It's the Tamiya 1/32 kit with the Eduard Brassin port engine, Xtracolor paints and Aviaeology decals. The aircraft represents one flown by Squadron Leader Vic Cherry, a 
Texan who flew with the RCAF's 418 Squadron.

On my way out to airbrush the cockpit, great job, I dropped my airbrush damaging the crown tip! 
So I got nothing else done before heading off on a family vacation, but the good news was, I was on vacation.
upon getting back I was able to find the part on eBay, but it would be several weeks before I get it. To keep things moving forward I've attached the top section in between the canopy and the cannon, and sorted out the panel lines.
 
 
 
 
With the front done as much as I want, with out the cockpit, I turned my attention to the main fuselage and main landing gear bays. I'm going to use the Aires sets, so it was out with the Dremel, and I said good bye to the kit pieces!
Having done this before, I wasn't to nervous, but it is an expensive kit, but success. And as you can see, my preferred way to do this section is to attach the fuselage sides, and then adjust the kit pieces and Aires sets of a better fit.
 
As l'm planning to use a lot of aftermarket gear, I know the plane will have some weight to it, and the joins aren't the best, so all joins are reinforced with sheet styrene.
 
 
 
Styrene was also used to help adjust the Aires wheel wells to fit, no big issue, but now it's a good fit. I still have plenty of sanding, rescribing and rivets to go on the rear fuselage, but by the time that's complete, my airbrush should be up and running to complete the cockpit.

it took me one year to finish this kit and I tried to build it as correct as I could. I used quite a lot of after market stuff, such as the Eduard BIGED, the Avionix sets for the Cockpit, the wheels are Eduard Brassin for the B-25, the engines Brassin for the Corsair. The oxygen bottles in the wheel wells are 3D printed. The markings are painted and the nose art decals are custom made.

I have zip about helicopters beyond Luftwafe types in my library.  This book looks like a good place to start.  Dangerous because after I get the book I will have to shop for the helicopter  kit to go with it.

...well, thanks for the review of the „problem areas“....
I really like the kit, the spine-problem is hardly noticeable..., i‘m really keen to get one and you’ll definitely get a great looking Super Hornet from it....

As annonced in the other thread, I am starting the RF-8G in parallel with the F-8E and the F-8E (FN)
I will use the Avionics F-8J set for the LOX tank and the MB Mk7, the Aires exhaust ( PW J-57 P20) and cockpit as well.

I wanted to do a shark mouth scheme but it looks like the F-8J get any of that. Kit decal then, save money to buy couple more 1/72 F-8 since I have the Mig Killer decal, for 16 birds IIRC
