    There were 9 standard fuselage circumferences from 20 to 60 inches in 5 inch increments. Your guess (estimation) is as good as any.

    Looks nice Spyros, yes the mottling was random. Some left the factory with similar styles of mottling but no particular pattern.

    Yes, the Malcolm hood and the radio are the only things I know of that were changed by the RAF. Not sure about seat belts or gunsights. P-51B/Cs and MkIIIs first had 85 an gallon tank behind the cockpit which caused balance and control problems so they dropped it to 65 gallons which impoved the problem but only a little.

    Smashing idea my good man. Looking good Bill. Touch ups would be easy , lay a piece of used mask next to the booboo and brush paint any white with a small brush.

    If you're using the same photos as I have (the 2 most common crash scenes) , it looks good to me. Once you get all the markings on it will come together as a more whole picture. Soldier on Bill.
