1/32 GWH P-40B TuAF Tomahawk

Recommended Posts

This is my recently finished 1/32 Great Wall Hobby's P-40B with TuAF markings .

These Tomahawks were Ex-RAF Tomahawks from Mediterannean stocks.

They were re-painted in Turkey by using RAF fighter paints.

Cockpit modified by using Eduard instrument panels and RAF seatbelts. I found the RAF gunsight from an old Hasegawa Spitfire in my spare box and used it.

Main wheels are from Barracudacast

Paints are Gunze Sangyo acrylics.

National insignias are painted by masking

Star and Crescent on the rudder is from Turquoise decal

"White 3" decal is from Customhobbydecals.

Happy  modelling

Well done Tulga.  I love that this is something different and you don't see everyday! Congrats.  The Turkish Air force also flew early Mk Spitfires and if I recall properly, Fw-190's?

P.S.  I loved my time in Istanbul, Antalya, Bursa (Alexander Kebab) and I have a good English mate living in a resort town on the Black Sea somewhere currently.  I need to recall the name.  He just received his Turkish residency papers.  Amasra or Sinop?

Kind regards on "another" super effort.  I just recently picked up the Qunita set for this same aircraft.  Wow!

Thanks Troy

Yes Turkey used Spitfire Mk.1, Vb, IXe and XIX with Fw 190A3 export versions during the same period.

Good looking model, as always.  It's nice to see one in different markings from the normal too.
