Hi all,
The underside if the upper with has been pre-rigged with the flying, landing, incidence, drag and cabane bracing wires.
For rigidity the landing gear has been final rigged with its bracing wires.
Mono-filament of 0.08 and 0.12 mm diameter used with 0.4 and 0.5 mm diameter blackened Brass tube.
The turnbuckles on the landing gear are 'Gaspatch' 1:48th metal Type C for strength.

Now it's onto fitting the upper wing,

Mike

That undercarriage rigging looks great Mike as does the camp on the wing.  I like the GP 1/48 scale turnbuckles and think they add a lot to a build's looks.

Ernest

Hi Ernest,

The metal 'Gaspatch' turnbuckles are good for strength but many have to be thrown as the 'eye' ends are blocked and can't be easily drilled out.

I've started using the 'Proper Plane' 3D printed resin turnbuckles, which are pretty strong and never suffer blocked 'eye' ends.

Although at the moment they are just the double ended type,

Hi!

I like your projects very much, it's always a pleaure to look at your craftmansship.

Here is a little greeting from Germany. Today, we took a trip to our "neighbourhood" from Lower Saxony to Saxony-Anhalt.

The city you can see in the far, is Halberstadt. Perhaps you can recognize the Cathedral.

Thanks - that's an interesting photograph - although I'm not familiar with the area,

I'm always impressed by the speed in which you're able to build Mike. I need to test out pre-rigging one of these times to see if it makes life easier.

Matt

Hi Matt,

Pre-rigging as much as possible before the wings are fitted makes life easier as half of the final rigging has already been done.

It also reduces the amount of handling of the model when final rigging,

Hi all,
Apart for some areas of weathering needed, the aircraft model is finished.
The last parts have been added:
Wheels ('Proper Plane' 760x100 'Continental')
Propeller ('Proper Plane' 'Garuda')
Windscreen
Aileron controls
Observers Parabellum machine gun,
Flare ammunition rack,
Grenades rack,
Flare pistol.
All structural and flight control rigging completed.
This was 0.08mm and 0.12mm diameter mono-filament and 0.4mm and 0.5mm diameter tube.
Also 'Gaspatch' metal and 'Proper Plane' resin turnbuckles.

Below are a few shots.

Now it's onto the figures,

Mike

I can't believe how quickly you're motoring through these high-quality builds, Mike! Terrific work as always. What's next?

Kev

Hi Kevin,

That's the perk of being retired I guess :D

Not sure what's next, but I have 41 in my stash to choose from,

Outstanding Mike! Neat as ever. There is a Halberstadt CL.IV in the National Air and space museum which I always admire when I go. I was lays mildly irritated that WnW didn’t do the CL.IV but, the Cl.II is actually the better looking airframe. I do like the markings you have chosen. I have to agree with Kevin: the speed you build at and with such quality and attention to detail puts the rest of us tortoises to shame! Keep it up!

Kind regards,

Paul
