I'll second what Dave said about books/plans. However, I'm a cheapskate when it comes to research material, unless it's a much bigger project, or something that I'm just really into and want to get it right (in my mind, at least!). If I don't have a book or plan at hand, I just study as many photos as I can and try to fill in the blanks where I can. Generally, every rib in the airframe is going to have the skin riveted to it. I usually have pretty good luck searching the web to find what I need for free, though.:D
