Vince Blackburn Posted January 15, 2022 Author Posted January 15, 2022 Happy weekend folks It's been a busy week back at work and today was the first time back on the bench First of all the the basic shape of the exhaust scallops were marked out with a pencil and the blisters highlighted to be sanded off later. New panel lines were added and a small square access hatch scribed. The basic shape was cut out backed with plasti card, angled tiny triangle wedges also added. Time for a smooth and a blend. Still more blending required but I can definitely see some progress here, the fuselage half on the left requiring more so the the right LSP_Kevin, Rockie Yarwood, HB252 and 14 others 17
LSP_Kevin Posted January 15, 2022 Posted January 15, 2022 Excellent work, Vince! Were the exhaust scoops on the fuselage really different sizes port and starboard? If so, I never knew that! Kev Vince Blackburn 1

Vince Blackburn Posted January 16, 2022 Author Posted January 16, 2022 Well what's better than a lazy Sunday afternoon? One where you have been in the shed modelling Todays efforts included the scratch building of five exhausts three on the starboard side and two on the port side as well as the finishing of the exhaust scallops There has even been time for work on the wheel well and undercarriage LSP_Kevin, Rockie Yarwood, Starfighter and 10 others 13
Vince Blackburn Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 Time to get the fuselage together this was pre prepared by sanding an angle on the mating surface of both halves effectively creating a V shape once joined with Tamiya green glue this was then filled with VMS black super glue, this should give a nice smooth seam that will not ghost in a couple of weeks The rudder had quite a bit of work done to it extending the trim tab as it is bigger on the FM-2 as well as moving the top hinge point up and filling the old one Lastly the a new piece of ribbing was added using strip plasti card, the right hand side has worked well but the left side need sanding back just a little to match the existing ribbing Kagemusha, Trak-Tor, Troy Molitor and 12 others 15

Vince Blackburn Posted February 15, 2022 Author Posted February 15, 2022 Evening all What with work Valentines Day and other things not much time for modelling recently, however today got back from work early enough to get some bit completed ,the Eduard mask had arrived and was soon fitted to the glazing in no time at all, this makes life so much easier. Canopy and sliding hood attached using Micro crystal clear and the airframe completed it's time to start laying down some whitish paint initial using Hataka insignia white (Lacquer) Annoyingly a couple of small seams required filling and this was achieved using Tamiya primer just love that stuff it even has its own little brush for application zerosystem, denders, John1 and 12 others 15
Paulpk Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 Nice to see conversions like this. Vince Blackburn 1
