1/32 Modern RAF Jet Pilot

I bought one a while ago, 3D printed, looks pretty rough in the photos, but not the case when in hand, and will no doubt vanish under a coat of primer.

I hope the expression on the face of the pilot improves under a coat of paint, but in bare resin he looks Pissed!

I too saw this on eBay and had the same thoughts, cheer up!.

A light brush with a glass fibre pen or soft Scotbright the a flash over with Mr Finishing Surfacer 1500.

Not sure what it is but older 3D prints develop a mould on the surface, it's easy to sort it.

For my RAF Tornado, I've bought this pair of fantastic Reedoak 3D printed figures in 1/32 recently. Unfortunately their range does not yet actually include modern RAF, but I think a number of the modern French Armée de l'Air subjects, either pilots in flight gear or ground crew work OK for RAF crew. I expect this could be considered close to blasphemy for some and doubtless inaccurate, but provided I pick the figures that don't feature flying helmets too prominently I am happy with them. They use scans of real people and for me now set the bar for quality in 3D printed figures - particularly in larger scale.

 

Of course if your interest is in modern French, Russian, USAF or USN you're certainly sorted - other eras and civilians are worth a look too. They're expensive, but incredibly realistic.

IF I was ever to add figures to a model, it would be Reedoak. Their product looks second to none.

These figures would be superbly-detailed for 1/16th scale, never mind 1/32nd! It just shows how far 3-D printing has advanced in recent years. I have to wonder how good it will be in 5 or 10 years from now...

... and the natural poses really add to the figures. For so many years, figures have looked like they are standing to attention, on a parade-ground. I'm very glad to see that we are now moving away from that.

At the last Scale Modelworld, there were a range of Reedoak figures displayed and a variety of scales, and they look so real it's almost eerie.  Even the 1:72 pilots look like litlte masterpieces.

So ended up buying one of these turn out pretty rubbish to be honest..However then found another chap who obtained the files and printed me one on a decent printer talk about chalk and cheese

Wow, I both, well all three! But especially the pilots.. Might pick them up even though I don´t have any RAF planes for the! (Yeah I know.. I should!)
