GMK
Used an appointment last week to do a quick reference check on the 1:1 scale truck. It was hard not to notice the black wheel wells. I confirmed this with production line pics. Duly masked. And painted. Winch base now added, yet to be camouflaged. I also added the rack for the 84mm ammunition at the left rear of the vehicle. According to the book, the ground clearance is 400mm, or 25mm in scale. Didn’t look right for some reason. As the suspension is decorative, the height is set via blocks underneath the transmissions. Here’s a 26mm height block. Too low. 27mm. Still a smidge too low. Trying 28mm, at which point I’ll finalise the inner wheel hubs. As the axles are getting farther from the deck with each iteration, the hole in the hub to accept the axle has to move up accordingly. Lucky this is static! GMK
Rats & mice this week. All the odds & sods I didn’t have the skills to design or wherewithal to print much before now. Latches for the sponson bin stowage doors. Exhaust pipe. Matted out the underside.. Added handles & latches to the bonnet/hood: And some springs & vents to the roof. Looks more coherent when painted. Assemblies dry fitted for height check. Thanks for stopping by. Edited March 27, 2021 by GMK Cheetah11, chukw, alain11 and 7 others
Anthony in NZ
I know this sounds so cliché but now every time I look at your model I have to try and figure out if it is a photo of the real machine or your kit! Somehow what you have done is is display a talent rarely possessed by many. Well done you are an inspiration and I LOVE each update! Wish I had your skills Cheers Anthony Uncarina and GMK

Very kind words. As an admirer of your work over the years, that praise means a lot. Thank you, again. 17 hours ago, Uncarina said: Same here! You haven’t built this, you’ve conjured it! GMK
Thought I’d assemble the various components of the upper hull into a single piece & see how it came out via Shapeways, a commercial 3D printing company. Not little! And not cheap! Wow. Uncarina and LSP_Kevin

Still need to model the cradles & ammunition holders, the the swing arms themselves are more or less done. These will have MAG58/M240/GPMGs mounted. Mirrored & printed the wire cutter for the RHS. Do you maybe have the 3D files of the Platt swing mount available for personal use?
