Juggernut
Damn, you are a machine! I have trouble completing two to three models a year, let alone in a month! Excellent Hog by the way. One minor nitpick if I may.... If you ever build another tri-color Corsair, the vertical stabilizer should be intermediate blue (like your rudder), not the dark blue (non-specular sea blue). The US Navy spec at that time said that all vertical surfaces were to be intermediate blue. The outer wing undersides are that color because when folded, they would be vertical. Doesn't detract from the overall build but is noticeable. nmayhew

nmayhew
The model looks beautiful, but the more I see them the less I like the HGW stars and bars - that two tone blue thing just doesn’t look right.

nmayhew
i don;t know enough about Corsairs to identify the timeframe for your subject, but to me it just doesnt look right - I am not sure they were actually like that they would only be two tone if the border was originally red and then they were overpainted with blue, - is this the case with this airfrane? even then I'm not sure the difference would be so pronounced and also so uniform and consistent the rest looks really good sorry

I basically build models from the photos. Here are examples. https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Corsair/VF17/pages/Vought-F4U-1A-Corsair-VF-17-Jolly-Rogers-White-1-Tom-Blackburn-BuNo-17640-New-Georgia-Solomons-Nov-1943-01.html https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Corsair/VF17/pages/Vought-F4U-1A-Corsair-VF-17-White-5-Tom-TK-Killefer-17656-maintenance-Nissan-Island-Green-Islands-6th-Mar-1944-01.html I recommend these publications. They contain many quality photos and information. https://www.largescaleplanes.com/reference/details.php?title=4732 https://www.largescaleplanes.com/reference/details.php?title=4735
