Another year complete with a superb table display by the LSP  / 32 sig .

Firstly Very many thanks to Iain and Ollie for brining their builds along. We had 12 ft x 4 ft to fill and fill it we did.

Anyhow Iv'e a few, admittedly phone photos of some of the LSP's on display with one or two large rotary builds i found particularly nice.

On with the show firstly the LSP table

Excuse the blue velour on this table. I honestly thought it detracted from the subjects, but heyho the clubs choice, who am I to dictate?

"they all look very factory-fresh clean to me? Is this a new direction?"   Well if it is it's welcomed.  I personally like them like that.

Just how's how tastes differ. I look at a factory fresh finish on a model & I think it looks half finished.

But I think the "Spanish school" of weathering is designed just to sell more weathering products. The range available now is huge. Different types of mud, various types of snow, rust in different stages, Eastern Vs Western mud - it's too much for me!

Lovely 1/32 SIG table there and your B-17G is one of my favourites.  Also, that Tempest/Typhoon is amazing.  We are already talking about Telford this year, and get to see more of these great builds in-person.  Thanks for posting the pictures!

Sorry I couldn't be there this year.  Great display.

Looking at other photos of the show on various sites, there seemed to be fewer stands around.  I know the organisers have limited numbers now - my own club didn't make the cut this year - but do you think it was significanly smaller in numbers?

Thanks for the feedback folks.

In terms of the level of weathering debate, all of the builds photographed were sublime and subtly weathered. I don't think the camera is completely doing them justice. They really needed to be seen in the flesh as it were ,to be fully appreciated.

It did indeed appear that there were fewer display tables present this year. This was made a little worse by at least two clubs not turing out despite tables being allocated to them.

All in all a great show with a lot of interest in 32nd scale subjects with discussion mainly around age and eyesight.

now back to the Mozzie for Telford! .

Great photos, thanks for posting, the show was great but there must have been something in the air as for the first time in 2 years we could not park on site, we had to park in the first overspill car park which was about 11/2 miles away from the museum. There must have been a lot more people there this year as we arrived at the same time that we usually do.

But it was worth it as the modelling batteries have been re charged, sadly I could not find anything to buy, I nearly bought a Revell Ju 88 but as I already have one and with limited storage for such a big model I resisted.

I was totally gobsmacked at the sight of the Boulton Paul Defiant snuck away in the corner of one of the hangers, what an impressive aircraft, I would love an IM kit of it, the Defiant and Westland Whirlwind for me are two of the biggest gaps in 1/32 scale model kits, thank goodness that SH are doing the Whirlwind (soon I hope).

Cheers

Dennis
