ROM
Hello, In 2009 I built the Tamiya kitty. Last month, I decided to "upgrade" it with Academy GBU's, Tamiya last release burner cans, and Master model pitot. Paints are Humbrols, Future/Klir coated, and salt weathered. Daywalker
I remember seeing the build on a French forum a few yeas ago (I believe?) and loved watching it come together. Truly on of the finest Tomcats I have seen built! Edited November 30, 2013 by Daywalker
ericg
Very nice! I have had the same idea with the burner cans for my build with one being open and one being closed. Impressive weathering. Eric

Guest Peterpools
Rom Awesome looking cat. And so very well done, as the salt air and the environment at sea has taken it's toll. Peter
joe
Awesome tomcat mate. Absolutely love the weathered finish it looks real. Did you re-scribe the fuselage? Edited December 1, 2013 by joe
ROM
hi! thanks guys! Dennis, you're right, the WIP was published on "Fighters" forum: http://fighters.forumactif.com/t22440-1-32-f-14a-tomcat-vf211-checkmates-patinois-sale?highlight=checkmates Eric, apparently this asymetric configuration of burner cans is typical. I believe it is a story about pneumatic system or so... Hi Kevin! Of course! ;^) Joe, you're right. I rescribed the fuselage. The wings and front fuselage are already molded with nice recessed panel lines. It is not the case for main upper and lower halves... Glad you like it! bye Romain
pzcreations
that paint job looks great! I too wondered about that cans..didnt know that. I always wondered why Tamiya did both raised and recessed lines on this kit..kinda ruined the whole thing just for that reason..I hate scribing panel lines lol ..I always manage to slip and screw up. wardog
Wow......one of the most realistic paint/weathering jobs I've seen. I'll have to study this example a bit to learn from it. Girlscanplay2
