Timmy!

I cannot believe this build. When I build models, I need the plastic bits provided to me so I can stick them together. Your work is on a completely different level, outstanding!

More please!!!

Awesome skills Timmy

I particularly like your foil skinning technique - something that I am now using more frequently on my full kit master patterns to accurately represent the full size aircraft skin.

Care to tell us what aluminum foil you use for skinning your model?

It is called tooling sheet. It's 36 gauge (0.005") annealed aluminum sheet. I got my supply at art and craft suppliers.

Today I completed the last "box" that mounts to the coaming. There are still a handful of little details to ad, but the hard fabrication is done. I'll let the photos do the talking.

Timmy! I have a bit of aluminium sheet. Measured at 0.006" so a smidge thicker than beer can.

Would love to contribute to this staggering awesome build thingy.

Like the 60s Brit stuff.

Let me know and I'll have ali litho in the post.

Oooo. Love those recessed fasteners. I suppose you made your own photo-etch. Can you give details as to material and such?

Sincerely,

Mark

Mark,

Check out page 2 of this thread, there are some shots of the photo etch sheet. In short the CAD work was used for the photo etch artwork, which I sent out to be etched. The material is 0.005" stainless steel.

Well this is it for the coaming for now. I'll be back to skinning the fuse for a while.
This work is really all the niggly details, to get the parts 100% complete.
Little bracket work on the Sky Guardian Display.

NVG lighting and ECM and Chaff push button. On the bottom the Navigation box.

The Navigation box mounting bracket with Drouge Chute Release. Flood lights that mount under the coaming and Nav box.
img1315ys.jpg
A few more details on the coaming. The black patches are 320 grit sand paper to represent patches of velcro loop. Plus a few other surface details.

Timmy, here's a pic of my raw material 'stash'. Printer's litho sheet.

In case your regular supplier is unavailable I'm only too happy to flick a couple sheets your way.

More than I'd ever use in two lifetimes.

Hey, Kevin.

Well, well, another hand goes up!

:coolio:

I'm only too happy to oblige the Cause.

If you want to cover S&H I can put a few A5 sizes in the post.

It works out about 130mm X 200mm. One of the large sheets gives 8 of them.

Is that a suitable/useable size?

Cheers.

Ross

*edit*

These are ex-stock from a clearance some 17 yrs ago so not a "renewable resource".

Once gone they're gone.
