LSP_Kevin
Nearly there! Finished the decals and she's had a wash, though I had a bit of trouble with it and am still not entirely happy. I use oils thinned with white spirit for washes, but I sometimes find that this mixture doesn't flow very well, and will effectively bead up in the recessed detail. Anyone got any advice on how to improve that? Anyway, here are the snaps: Some final detailing and flat coat are all that's left. I've missed my self-imposed deadline of October 1, but I should have it wrapped up by the end of the weekend - still a very quick build for me! LSP_Kevin
OK guys, for better or worse, I'm calling time on this one. It's FINISHED! Before I show the final shots, I did have an issue with overspray getting on the inside of the canopy, which was revealed to me in all its glory after I removed the canopy masking: You can also see a fair bit of grunge on the front left quarter panel. That's because the CA I used to secure the canopy and seal the gaps actually flooded the canopy masks and glued them to the plastic! My wife always tells me that she thinks modelling is the wrong hobby for someone as clumsy as me. Anyway, I managed to recover, mostly, but that front quarter panel is still pretty ugly. So, here's what it looks like now: I know the photos aren't the best, but I just don't have the set up to do much better. Thanks to everyone for following along, and especially to those of you who gave me help, advice and encouragement. From humble beginnings this has turned into one of the coolest-looking models in my collection. And it's been a blast! Kev Uncarina

SciFi58
Impressive and inspiring, Kevin. And tell me about the clumsiness. Every time I reach for something on my bench, I knock something over. My brain goes faster than my body can react and I constantly need to tell myself - slow down! As impatient as I am I picked the wrong hobby. Can't wait to get back at my Veltro since following your build.
