1/35 Hovercraft

Well here’s something from the leftfield….This was posted as something new on Armorama. A 1/35 Hovercraft by Gecko Models. What is wrong with these people!? Don’t they know all hovercraft are aircraft!? Outrageous!!!🙈😂

It's a very nice kit. I'm waiting for hopefully some figure kits to come out as the only thing missing would be a crew.

Is the skirt on this craft rigid or does it deform when powered down?

If so, does the kit offer that option?

Afaik the skirt deforms as the craft settles down. This looks very much like the SRN6, as used on the Portsmouth-Isle of Wight run in the 80s. They were very noisy craft!

No option for a deflated skirt in the kit. You can have the front door/boarding ladder open or closed.

Noisy? Whaaaaat did you say? You're not kidding! I went to France in an SR.N4  in the late 1980's and it was the antithesis of what I expected (smoothly gliding over the wave tops). I think it was the noisiest machine of any kind that I have ever been in and the ride was actually quite bumpy. 

 

I agree with @MikeC - that the kit looks very like SR.N6.
