I have built the early Korean era A-1 and really liked the kit. Great fit, easy build with very little filler and not over engineered, plus It looks like a Skyraider to me when its done. I built it OOTB and enjoyed the build so much I have bought another one and plan on getting a third one here soon.

Here is a shot of it:

PS: this its the same basic kit as the H version without the updated armored moldings on the fuselage and lower center wing section.

I hate to say it, but WNW has spoiled me rotten. If WNW doesn't make it, I don't want it.

I once saw a post where someone claimed they refused to build the HK B-17G because it was 3mm too short and sold the kit. Mind you, it's over 700mm in length. Equates to a whopping 0.4% error. That was just the far side of ridiculous to me. Yet I doubt this person has built any model at all where they made sure they sanded the plastic (or resin) down to scale thickness for that particular model.

But then I realized that people like this don't build models for the joy of the hobby and the Art of the Pursuit. They do it (or not) because they have to prove an imagined point, most likely in an attempt try to make themselves look good.

Fact #1: No model is 100% accurate. It is scientifically impossible to make a model 100% accurate. It's not the Real Thing.

Fact #2: The Perfect is the Enemy of the Good.

Fact: I've been building models for nearly 45 years. I don't think I have ever once worried over a few missing rivets, a couple mm too big or short, the wrong color callouts, etc. I just love to build models. I don't really care if they are not 100% accurate (see Fact #1).

Fact: Most of us that are not anal about rivets are sometimes at fault for sitting here on the other side of the screen and never telling all these models companies "Hey! Thanks for the great effort! I really appreciate you bringing out a model like this! I'm buying it and building it to support you!" ie - our voices are drowned out by the vocal minority.

We should all think about this.

Well BradG... I guess exceptions can be made , but on the other hand we do have Trumpeter to thank for the steroid arm shot our scale got from them so many years ago... errors or not - Trump got 32nd scale rolling!
    Cheers

There is too much negativity here lately on new releases in my opinion. We have many new companies bringing new subjects in our scale and even with their flaws it is a godsend.  I am personally tired of seeing the slamming of manufactures on research errors.  Pointing out errors is fine, but these new players are getting zero thanks for giving us something new. If it isn't perfect, belly up and model it perfect or start your own company to sell to us.

I am sure those watching us are open to change to improve but we are getting a huge vibe of perfectionism or it's crap and that's not right.  LSP is not a place to slam manufactures for flaws,  it is a place to identify them, find a solution and share that, a place where changing them or not is up to the builder and not judged, change or leave as is is accepted,  a place where beginners are welcome and we want them to contribute. Being so critical on a new release surely doesn't encourage more to join for fear of a lack of knowledge. Not cool..

I commend these folks for bringing forward  these releases, hats down, flaws or not

Day one of this build. I've been looking forward to this kit for a long time.  I am already into it for one hour and thats just un-boxing it.  There is a pile of sprues in this kit. This will be a few months of building for sure.

Here is everything in the box, I placed a Tamyia 1/32 P-51 next to it for scale.

Excellent. I can now pull out the ole builder special kit (no memory where I got it), take it out onto the patio table and fill the heavy panel lines and sand and back into the garage to prime and then bit more sanding. All of this with a nice cold one just out of harms way of the flying elbows and the like. I love real model building.

Decided to take advantage of Lucky Model's $2 surface shipping offer and pre-ordered a couple of the Italeri Mirages. Hoping Isra or someone makes IAF decals for the kit since they were a major user of the C version.

Sorry guys, not a full kit but I just saw on MasterCaster's Facebook page that they're developing a cockpit for the matchbox/revell 1/32 Sea Venom. Well there's one major improvement taken care of!

    The subscription bug bite me!!!

Seriously, I received an email from DeAgostini about their newest release, a Douglas DC-3 ..... in 1/32 scale!!!

Couldn't believe that someone finally did this airplane in this scale.

    Hi Everybody,
I have been working all day on how best to resolve the clear nose part issue and the end result is to report that there is not as much of an issue as i thought! Thankfully I have stock of everything so I can play around but the best thing is to look at photos of the real aircraft again and I realised that on my first attempt the side and lower framework on my nose piece was too wide, trimming a new one to just 1mm by-passed the small amount of splaying outwards in the suction issue I reported. Now note with the clear parts you have two frames of reference - 1st is the canopy lower sill which should be wide enough to just allow the bottom of the lower windows to be in line with the exterior brace moulded onto the resin tub. 2nd the middle frame of the nose which goes from one side the the other and passes underneath the circular panel starts with its upper edge smack bang in the middle of the moulded exterior resin brace terminal. Ok so here is how I think anyone should proceed....

    1. Add some means of creating addition purchase material for the nose section - plastic sleeved wire is perfect - not only is it easy to place but also can represent piping on model. Place it all the way to the top of the aperture so that when you fit the nose part it is jammed between what you have added and the exterior resin braze.

    2. Make sure canopy is trimmed to windows just appear above exterior braze and tape down.

    3. Trim nose section so that lower/side frame is 1mm wide

    4. Offer up to tub/canopy and trim accordingly.

    5. Glue / fill at time of your choosing. There will be need for some strong CA in places so take precautions against fogging. There will be some filling required around this nose fit so don't leave to after model is painted.

Best wishes and sorry for any headaches or loss of interest.

    John

Not sure of the exact statistics for adult modellers who stash kits and AM, but it's in the region of only one built out of every ten - if anything, even lower.

I have a dozen CE sets and am using only two-three next year, possibly only two more beyond that. There's a lot of unused stuff floating about, some of which has been superseded by more modern and accurate sets (e.g. GT Resins F-4, F-15 etc sets) so some is offload, some opportunist because of scarcity and the prices that can be obtained.
Some CE is probably in its own niche trading cycle, without going near a box of the intended recipient model.

Hi Guys, found a few more photos that have allowed me to add additional detail to the Rb 50/30 cassette and thanks to a photo of the crashed Cookie VII in War Prizes I was able to change the interior cut out of the camera bay/gun bay covers. Bit confusing having the new cassette in the cream and the new cover in the primer but I am sure you can see the differences

But there must be a lot of USAF reports with descriptions of the ennemy aircraft.

It seems that almost all North Korean aircraft were NMF (or rather aluminium painted), but there are more profiles depicting chinese Migs with a camo.

I will chip in for some new tooling cost. Better Pastor John implements a new clear glazing part the me. I will never get to it. The rest of the conversion is very nice.
