The intake components are no fun ......I'll take another approach to this area on my next Tornado build.
No need to build the engines as I'm using the ResKit exhausts and they will just slide into position at the end of the build.
The top spine panel is just there checking for fit issues.
I need to build the wings as they need to be installed (screwed) into position next.

All fair points, Dave.  Truly, I'm not worried about it either.  I've built both the B-25 and the B-17E from HKM and have been very happy with the detail, fit, and finish.  I'm just still smarting from the stupid Helldiver debacle.

A conundrum I’ve been pondering for a few hours…….how to paint the red incendiary bands around the 500lb’ers.
I had a far out of left field solution.
I took the unused prop’ spinners from the kit, cut holes in the tops and opened them to 7mm and 8mm respectively.
Placed over the tips of the bombs, the conical shape of the spinner meets the surface snugly. Thus creating the perfect reusable ‘mask’.

    …..the result

A bit of an unusual solution, granted. But reckon it saved me the job of trying to do it with tape.

I'm done with decals.   They fought me all the way (maybe some of the pain was self-inflicted) but I'm satisfied.   Still not 100% content with my subject but wasn't up for waiting months / years in hopes that someone might get around to releasing additional decals for this kit.    To complete the decaling, I've added a few more stencils plus all the markings on the tail boom.    After that, I shot everything with Testors Dullcoat (my go-to flat finish).   Added a bit of gloss to the jar, the OD paint used on these helos, even when weathered, still had a bit of a sheen to it.

I have to apologize for the pictures, even by my standards, the quality sucks.   I can't seem to get brighter, more detailed shots.   Same lighting I use for all my other builds, just wonder if the sensor in my older point and shoot is struggling with the OD color (or maybe the white backdrop)?   Any suggestions are appreciated.

Next up - the last real challenge in this kit, adding all the bits to the canopy interior and then getting all the clear parts assembled in place.

Just to show I have started .......using the Eduard landing gear bay set, the exterior set, and some pieces from the interior set. I also have the ResKit exhausts, Red Fox Studios GR.4 cockpit set, and Master Casters seats. I have other aftermarket items that I'll identify as we go along.

    Thanks for looking

I have applied most of the decals by now and its looking pretty cool if I do say so myself - I am loving how this is turning out and I am super happy I chose to give it a go finally. I need to finish up the underside and add another layer of gloss varnish before I do some light weathering.  - Then I will turn my attention back to the cockpit and clear parts
