Joel_W
Now that's one really impressive SEA camo paint scheme. the Black basing really makes quite a difference. Joel
Breaker
Been messing with different weathering techniques whilst I've been waiting for various orders to arrive. I want this A-1 to be quite heavily weathered, the one reference photo I've got of Firebird shows it to be really beaten up. Joel_W
Breaker, the scuffing looks real good, but extend it out a little ways. Just looks a little to neat like no one ever went out of the lines. Joel
Breaker
Decals, panel liners and flat coat down. Touchups and clean up required in some areas. Time for my first real attempt at oil weathering coming up! KiwiZac, DesTROYer, Shaka HI and 8 others
Joel_W
Breaker, Decals look great. You really don't need to go to heavy with oil washes as you've created quite a realistic operationally weathered finish from just looking at these pictures. LSP_Kevin
Wow, that looks superb! I agree with Joel: it's nearly there already, so don't go too hard with the next stages. Kev

I agree with Joel: it's nearly there already, so don't go too hard with the next stages. Kev I'm going with my references on this one, these tended to get really beat up in service with fuel and oil leaks, gun smoke streaks, chipping and dirt staining which I'm hoping to replicate. Really nice job! Cheers, Tom Superb! Not much else to say! Good stuff. Good show. Sincerely, Mark Thanks guys
Joel_W
Breaker, It's always much easier to add another layer to the wash, then try to remove just the previous layer without removing to much. Just that your black basing came out perfectly, and created the perfect base to work with. Joel
Marcel111
Looks great... I agree with Joel that the weathering already looks very convincing. Cheers, Marcel
Breaker
Heres some of the references I'll be working to with the weathering. I've got loads but these are some of the highlights. I especially like the wing top photo and the underside, like how the main spar has caused a weathering effect along it's length. interesting as well that the gear doors are a lot cleaner than the rest of the underside. Breaker
Started the oil weathering today, working on staining and some oil leaks. Kept in a small area for now, I'll be working forwards to the engine nacelle and outwards towards the pylons next. sandokan, MikeMaben, johncrow and 2 others
