Hi guys, small update

thanks a lot for all your comments! really apreciate

I like this kit, so far so good

Pls take into consideration that I am average modeler, and I am no Luftwaffe expert. I have some reference for this (Mushroom, Warbird Tech, MBI and Top Drawings), but will not do any form of rivets counting. Will put best effort to make it right and fast cause I want to focus on paint job. So any errors visible during my build would be caused most probably by my hands and not because of kit  B)

I realized that I do not have at home any pieces of lead. So I found new function for this model. It becomes a piggy bank  :D

Instead of recommended 15g I put in front 28,3g of weight (some decent fortune there  :coolio: ) glued with epoxy

some nice PE attached

I used differentapproach for wheel bays. First I glued main beams to lower part of the wings to keep geometry. After it I inserted landing gear bay struts. Everything will fix with epoxy just to keep strong joints for main gear legs.

There is small gap between central strut and beam

some fit issues analyse:

gun bay cowling

IMG_1327_zpsekwjvtrm.jpg

root cause: my hands and fact that I am in a hurry

solution? will sand it or just cut it and glue it again in better alignment (I hate sanding :) )

rudder trim tab

root cause: not my hands

solution? simple cut

and the result

you sure the two seaters didn't have an enlarged rudder tab?

Thanks Shawn for the advice! you are right and now I need to correct it  :deadhorse:

funny is that there is no much evidence in publication regarding this, all plans I have shows regular tab. And even in Revell instructions is quite confusing, because  step 93 & 94 of instructions show some indication of bigger tab but in colour profiles there is again regular tab

Found several photos on web which shows undoubtely bigger tab and even Eagle editions in their new decals for twinseater have them in color profiles. So good job Revell with this

This is why I like this place  :)

Small move forward with this one

forward fuselage cowling roughly filled, sanded and resribed (will smooth and prepare it for painting after the coat of surfacer)

IMG_1407_zpsjd76cuhh.jpg

elevator glued in place (was playing a little bit with geometry, I did not get it right on first attempt)

If you want to keep flaps down as me, these PEs will help to bring it to life.
