Dandiego
Ok, time to restart this build. I have been stymied of late by the need to attach the windscreen before final base coat application. Problem...I suck at vac-forming. Tried twice, crashed and burned, not even close. Then our own Lee White offered to help out. I bundled up my canopy masters and sent them to Lawn Guy Land. Got the completed canopies today and they are awesome! Thanks Lee!!!! Pictures to follow in a day or so. Dan Lee White and MikeMaben

sandokan
It is a pity not possible to see the picture of the wip via photobucket! Dandiego
Dandiego
It is a pity not possible to see the picture of the wip via photobucket! Sandokan,I had been thinking that I should post a few pictures from early in the build to replace those lost due to the " pb temper tantrum". Stay tuned. Dandiego
Ok here are some pictures of the new canopies. Aren't they sweet??? Thank you Lee!!!! You are looking at my originals that I sent to Lee. It looks like to me he then vacformed a white plastic over the form and then formed the clear part over that. Lee, jump in if I have it wrong. And the canopy set in place with the instrument panel. Lots o fiddling yet to do. Dandiego
Ok a little more work. First the instrument cowl. A little paint. And glued with 5 minute epoxy. Not sure if you can see it but there is a slot all around the instrument cowl. The lower edge of the canopy slides into the slot.Hopefully the epoxy will hold it all together. Thanks, Dan Edited September 25, 2017 by Dandiego sandokan, Starfighter, HerculesPA_2 and 4 others
Jim Barry
Work lately is looking really good. I love 5 min epoxy for my scratch builds. Just enough time to work the piece in place, strong and rarely (if ever) interferes with the pieces being bonded. Dandiego

Dandiego
Small progress. Canopy faired in. A little sanding. A some paint to check for flaws. Sorry about the focus. A great photographer I am not. Getting very close to a final gloss black coat. Dan Anthony in NZ, sandokan, Lee White and 2 others

Dandiego
Hey Lee thanks for your interest. A bit of a speed bump lately. After I had installed the windscreen I realized that had some problems. I glued the windscreen in too low and I had the instrument panel too high. Really looked bad. So I have removed the windscreen and will be redoing it. Might have some progress this week. Dan LSP_Kevin, Lee White and MikeMaben
