I’ve got it standing on its legs, I needed to check the ground clearance for the ECM pod, the fit is almost ok, but silly me wanted a wee bit more, so I’m back at the mount welding without measuring anything ……I’ve been going back and forth with getting all the sub assemblies finished and ready for the paint shop…. be back soon…

While letting things dry during my coffee break I couldn’t resist the urge to start planning out just how I’ll tackle the nose art. So far it looks like a stencil using some leftover vinyl of the figure. I need to get to a art store and source a quality art pen/paint pen for the intricate outline work.  :hmmm:

I must say that your wee mousie nose art looks very continental European to me.  Remember that this thing was supposed to be flying during a war fought by testosterone infused young American men who’d made certain men’s magazines popular.  I would have thought that nose art on an airplane known to one and all as “The Jug” would evoke something much more feminine and jugified than a mouse.  But that’s just me.

Just read through from post #1 - you're definitely giving the "what-if" thing a good seeing to! :P

I absolutely love it - and greatly admire your scratching skills :)

Thanks mate,  Hang in there with me, the final stretch is near :)

Have started the tedious process of painting the stars and bars insignia. A few things are a tad outa whack, so naturally the blames lays square at the GIs who applied the camo in the field, in monsoon conditions, 1000% humidity, at a gazillion degrees temp all the while slapping at the hordes of hungry feasting mossies…. I was going to document my step by step method but a serious case of  laziness set in ……        Finally I’ll start by painting the bottom the light grey/white before moving on to the tan on the topside…
