shadowmare
Engine and cockpit is ready. Added cables, some bigger/smaller containers, brown oil tank, gun belts to make ammo compartment more busy. Provided 3D decal has weak glue so I used CA on edges to prevent slipping. Part 5 was missing in instruction it should be placed under right side of instrument panel. I used different washes - brown, black, engine grease on engine. Koh I Noor crayons for small scratches. quang
Very busy interior! It adds loads of character to the build. Edited November 3, 2023 by quang shadowmare
Biggles87
That looks excellent, my 1/32 Mc202 is by 21st Century Toys! I wonder if Italeri would sell me some sprues to try to improve it. John shadowmare
Dpgsbody55
Looks very nice. Your grubby washes have brought it to life. Cheers, Michael shadowmare

Thanks, I'm only opening one side, not want to spoil plane wonderful slihuette. 8 hours ago, Biggles87 said: That looks excellent, my 1/32 Mc202 is by 21st Century Toys! John Just buy this kit, it's not perfect, but builds fast and is undoubtedly better than Century Toys and Pacific Coast Models. 3 hours ago, Dpgsbody55 said: Looks very nice. shadowmare
I used thinned Surfacer 1000 to fill fuselage panel lines, this will tone down them. Erased panel lines according to Maurizio article. Only one side will be opened, few touch ups needed before using primer. Dpgsbody55
Like Tom, I'm also looking forward to seeing how it looks after your mods to the fuselage panel lines. Cheers, Michael shadowmare and Uncarina
Biggles87
Me too. I have recently discovered Tippex pens ( thanks to a tip from a fellow modeller ) which can be applied fairly precisely along unwanted ( or too deep) panel lines and then removed either completely or partly with a piece of cloth moistened with IPA. KUROK
Wow awesome work! Exciting project as well! Question: Is one wing longer than the other? I think that is how Macchi dealt with torque rather than offset the vertical tail. shadowmare
shadowmare
KUROK, yes! This was first thing i checked after taking sprues from the box KUROK and Uncarina 1

It’s so obvious a feature that I didn’t even think to check it… until I inadvertently tried to glue one aileron to the wrong wing! shadowmare
Not so obvious quang, italeri Mc 202 in 1:72 has them in same size But somehow panel lines are delicate (elevators and rudders has correct number of ribs too) feature Italeri couldnt repeat 20 years later... mc65
shadowmare
I'm suprised that my simple method (Surfacer in lines and sanding) came up perfectly, this was 20 minutes work (not counting surfacer curing for few hours ), and it fixed this issue! White Surfacer is helping with masking, you just cover white places and using much less tape than masking around. After base color (my own mix of Hataka, wanted it to be more intense) white crayon to mark the shape of "amoebas" on one wing. Now rest of camo and experiments with painted rivets. leoasman, mywifehatesmodels, patricksparks and 10 others 12
