denders Posted July 5, 2024 Author Posted July 5, 2024 We were away for a bit. But it's still progressing one tiny brass piece at a time. It's not perfect. Javlin1, Alex, Model_Monkey and 7 others 10

denders Posted August 8, 2024 Author Posted August 8, 2024 Still working on this. I took this photo at NATS for inspiration. We were visiting out friends a couple of weeks ago and I showed my friend the photo. He asked, 'what's that at the back?' and I said, 'a CIWS'. He then told me that the Pharris didn't have one of them when he was aboard. Sooo, scratch the CIWS. I then revisited the reference photos that I have and noted that the main mast was different when the CIWS was not there. Onward, still more bits of brass to go. themongoose Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 Very cool. Solid inspiration as well. Kudos to you for tackling those in 1/700! So far your pe looks very nice in this scale.
denders Posted August 26, 2024 Author Posted August 26, 2024 Still working away at the PE on this one. The main mast and all it's associated PE parts to go. patricksparks, Archimedes, Alex and 2 others 5
denders Posted August 31, 2024 Author Posted August 31, 2024 I figured that I may as well get started on this part of the project too. LSP_Kevin, Model_Monkey, TankBuster and 2 others 5

Just take my glasses off (they're for distance.) But not anymore. Depending what I'm working on, I switch the lenses. These have a couple LEDs and are USB rechargeable. Two lamp intensities, but I always just turn it up. Well worth the money !!!
denders Posted September 5, 2024 Author Posted September 5, 2024 More tiny stuff. The mast on the right will go on top of the stack after I add more tiny stuff to the stack. TankBuster, Shoggz, LSP_Kevin and 2 others 5
denders Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 Okay, the mast is attached to the stack. Now to paint without using much 'sticky' stuff. I'm sure that using tape risks pulling pieces apart. all the brass was sprayed with Mr. Metal Primer before assembling, but I want to use a paint primer too. There are a few scratch pieces in there too. That's what I get for looking closely and repeatedly at reference photos. There is rigging to be added yet. I'm thinking about using some wire that I bought decades ago that I used for rigging 1/48 biplanes. Hopefully that will lessen the stress. patricksparks, Shoggz, LSP_Kevin and 3 others 6

This particular ship is not one of the selections in the kit. Fortunately, I can get 1094 out of the numbers that are provided, 10, 9, 4. Unfortunately, I can't get the name Pharris out of what is provided on the included decals, so, it required purchasing another AM decal sheet. The good thing, I guess, is Pharris has two Rs side by side. They're still tiny. patricksparks, LSP_Kevin, chrish and 3 others 6
