RFI Takom 1/16 scale Panzer I Ausf. A with SOLModel Figure

Hi  everyone,

I started this project as soon as the model came out, but it found it's way on to my shelf of forgetfulness for over a year.  I've been pn holidays for the past three weeks and have devoted most of my modelling time to seeing it through to completion.  Funnily...  I was only waiting on the base to dry when I learned that the early German radio headsets had orange covered ear pads.  Unfortunately, in a few photos it makes my figure look like a bit of a ginger.

Anyway...  on to the photos:

Nice job on your „Krupp Sport“.

I‘ m just waiting for Jeff Shui‘s Africa crew to place mine to that theatre.

Do you have sources or contemporary pics about „orange“ coloured ear pads on Dfh.b?

Sincerely, Nils

Nice job Gaz!

The first black and white picture looks fantastic.

Is the tank commander a full or partial figure?

Thanks mate!  It's a partial figure that ends just above the knees.  This is how SOLModel has him:

The only problem is, in all of the photos I could find, the hatch is never held open this way...  like on a T-34 or something.  So, I mostly buried my guy to fit historical photos.

Here is the only other way the hatch is held open in historical photos:

Hi Gazzas,

This is no contemporary pic - I’m pretty sure this must be a pic of the fully restorated vehicle located at  DeutschesPanzermuseum at Munster.

Thank you very much for this interesting picture. Never seen the ear pads covered in red-brown leather.

regards,

Nils

Really like that - beautifully built finished!

I'm part way through building the MiG Ammo release with the Breda gun - really enjoying it as something different - but there are a lot of ejector pin marks to sort. No biggie, but was a little surprised with that...

Nicely done sir.  Question for you if you know:  When did the Germans start/stop using the yellow ochre crosses on their early war vehicles?   Some of the early war photos have what is identified as the yellow ochre iron cross.  I am not familiar with a lot of the early war markings and such so I was curious.

Irregardless, it is the only other way the hatch is held open.
