AlanG
Just a quick question to you guys. What do you think about Revell's (old mould) Mosquito? Is it a decent enough kit to build? I would like to do the Bomber version and also the Fighter Bomber version. If i go down the FB version route (cannot afford Tamiya prices), what extras would i need to make it one? Obviously i'd need some sort of nose correction kit. But is there any other corrections needed?
Dave Williams
In addition to the obvious gun nose, the FB Mosquitos also had a different canopy, with a flat windscreen instead of the V-shaped windscreen of the bombers. Paragon made a FB conversion that included the cockpit and I believe a vacuform canopy, but it’s long OOP. AlanG and MikeC 1
Mark P
And expensive if you can find one. Mark Proulx AlanG
D.B. Andrus
I have the Paragon conversion I'd be willing to let go, but have no idea what a fair price would be. Not looking to get rich off it. Cheers, Damian MikeC and LSP_K2
AlanG
Suppose i have to weigh up the cost of the conversion over just saving and buying the Tamiya kit RadBaron
D.B. Andrus
Let me check, I have more Paragon products for the Mosquito, as well. Have to get up in the attic and see what's in the box. May take a couple of days. BTW, what does the Tam kit cost in your neck of the woods? It may be possible to get under that price, but with a lot more work involved in building the kit. D.B. Andrus
Take a look here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/GMAE3201-GREY-MATTER-FIGURES-1-32-MOSQUITO-FIGHTER-BOMBER-NOSE-REVELL-PARAGON/224019380903?epid=1610954773&hash=item3428987aa7:g:oGQAAOxyOa9RyY2q Cheaper than I can get it to you. Mark P
Still requires the Paragon set. This a resin nose only and there is far more to the Mk VI than that. Mark Proulx
John1
2 hours ago, Jennings Heilig said: Somebody PLEASE convert the Tamiya kit into a bomber so the gods will move Tamiya to releasing one There are more than a few unused parts in the Tamiya FB.VI kit that point to them some day getting around to releasing a B.IV. Or at one point had at least considered doing one. Uncarina and MikeC
Uncarina
I will just lay this down here: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235025780-132-mosquito-biv-tamiya-with-hk-models-nose-what-have-i-done/ I know, way out of any practical price range! Chek
Although dealing with 1/48 scale kits, there's some good information on bomber Mosquitoes at http://soyuyo.main.jp/mosquito/mosquito.html Uncarina and AlanG 1
