LSP_Ron
Since I am in quarantine for another 12 days I thought I would pull this kit out and build it. I washed it last night and will start working on the body today. It's die cast and needs a lot of TLC removing mold seems and filling steps from mold slip. I also have to pick out a color from the stash of paint I have. LSP_Paul, LSP_K2, Gazzas and 2 others
LSP_K2
Interesting. I've never built a metal car like that, Ron.
LSP_Ron
It's a basic kit but fun. Body work is done and most of the other bits are painted now. I have a neat color for it. I am spraying it RAF Sky Type S then a top coat of Tamiya Pearl white which is translusent. Makes a really nice Pearl teal blue. I'll paint it tomorrow, mustang1989, Gazzas, LSP_Paul and 1 other
Astro32
Sweet! I remember that kit now! I had one of their Duesenberg kits. It was just a metal version of their plastic kit, but it was very nicely done.
RLWP
I can still remember the first XK120 I saw on the road <sigh> LSP_Ron and Astro32
LSP_K2
I like the interior color, quite a lot. It's very similar, if not a bit lighter, to the interior of a '29 Ford I'm working on will be.
LSP_Ron
The base color is on. I primed with Tamiya grey primer and let it dry overnight. This morning I sprayed it with MM enamel British Sky Type S thinned with Lacquer thinner. Late this afternoon I top coated with Tamiya Pearl White. It makes for a very interesting almost mint pearl green. I will let this dry for two days then apply four or five coats of MM gloss coat. I'll let that dry then wet sand with 2000 grit and then polish that out to a shine. I like the color a lot. Astro32, D.B. LSP_K2
That's an excellent color, Ron. I like that a lot. I'll look forward to seeing 'er shine. LSP_Ron
D.B. Andrus
Beautiful custom color w/RAF touch. How do you like the heft of the metal, as opposed to plastic, on model cars? Cheers, Damian
LSP_Ron
Thanks, I do like the color too. The body is a bit clunky weight wise but much easier to do body work on than plastic. Overall its a good kit. A little simple but decent. LSP_K2

LSP_Ron
Might not be my best effort with a car but it's done and will look good in the office. Troy Molitor, Out2gtcha, LSP_Paul and 4 others

LSP_Ron
Forgot one, I still have to finish the Bugatti but its such a frustrating kit to build I am taking small baby steps working on it. mustang1989 and LSP_Paul
LSP_K2
I can really see the clear pearl on the trunk; looks real nice too.
