europapete Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 Hhmmmm..........looks interesting. Will have to get a set or three and experiment. Regards, Pete in RI
LSP_Ray Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 They are not on his site yet as he is getting test shots. You can see the similar I-153 product here. Pastor John 1
John1 Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 Interesting for sure. As long as the lengths are dead on, this could be a very useful set. I wonder if those wires are supposed to be connect to the airframe with turnbuckles or directly?
Aptivaboy Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Looking forward to this. To echo John1, how do these mount? Eyelets? Turnbuckles? Thanks. I wouldn't mind a set for the SE5A, either. Bob
Pastor John Posted January 5, 2020 Author Posted January 5, 2020 The turn buckle is part of the design - can hardly be seen and not the best for realism to be sure but the only way to do it in 2D! They are measured precisely requiring a small pilot hole where WNW stipulate and into that goes a small part of the connection tab at the ends of the parts. It works guys - done it on my Eduard 1/48 Gladiator, all off SBS product test shots, my Airfix Walrus and 1/32 ICM 153. All sets have a test shot first - it is needed as the parts need to fit to perfection. Obviously drilling as deep as one can go as well as keeping as much of the connection tab increases your flexibility - no pun intended but the designs are done in Stainless so that they are not flexible! Drilling into the kit in same direction as travel of bracing wire is essential due to the rigid stainless material. coogrfan, Out2gtcha, Kagemusha and 1 other 4
