Some civvies in 1/72

Hi guys,

Next to LSP, I like to build in 1/72.

There is no theme in my 1/72 collection, so anything goes.

However, I have a soft spot for the weird and wonderful.

Here are a few civvies I made over the past years.

First the 1/72 Italeri/Bilek Antonov-2:

For years it resided on the Shelf of Doom, until I bought some Begemot decals and finished it.

A few years ago it got a Gold medal at the Euro Scale Modelling contest.

Next is the Revell 1/80 Fairey Rotodyne reissue of a couple of years ago:

The full interior is a cool feature of the model and fits fairly well.

The hinges of the rear clamshell doors were very fragile.

Ofcourse I dropped the model on its rear doors during the build, so they had to be repaired.

The decals were very good, I only wished they had printed an extra patch of the blue on the decalsheet for touching up.

And finally the most recent design: the Amodel 1/72 Learfan 2100:

A few years ago this one also got a gold medal at the Euro Scale Modelling contest.

The original being of carbonfire construction and very smooth, the model had to be smooth as well.

Luckily, this Amodel kit was fairly neat and fit of parts was good, so that saved me a lot of effort.

I'm currently building the Amodel Beech Starship, from the same era as the Learfan, buth that one is much more work!

Hope you like the models.

Cheers,

Peter

Thanks, guys!:)

Hi Kev,

That's a good score!

Although basic by todays standards, with a bit of elbow grease, it can be made into a very good model.

I have two in the stash. An old box and the reissue of 1996. The blue of the decals in that one is a bit light.

Cheers,

Peter

Yeah, that's the one I have, and I too thought the decals looked a bit light. Will have to mask and spray the blue I guess.
