Guest
I decided to see if the Revell smooth wings could easily be mated to the Tamiya fuselage. Not a big problem at all. You can check my WIP for info on the modification, etc. https://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=74939&hl= After market items are Barracuda cockpit details and stencils plus a Barracuda seat. Seat belts are FineMolds. The flaps are the Tamiya flaps (great fit to the Revell wing, minimal trimming, etc needed). I used various shades of Alclad on the exterior while the interior was painted with Testors Model Master. Decals are from the Revell and Tamiya kits plus some from Kagero's Pacific Mustangs set. I decided to depict this model as "just delivered to a squadron" with no unit markings, etc. I enjoyed this build as something a little bit out of the ordinary. I hope you guys like it. Troy Molitor
Brilliant results John. I just picked up the Revell kit here in the states today. (I came back for a couple days for a wedding). Just opened the Revell box and found no decals or instructions inside the sealed box. Hmmmmm Love the newly delivered scheme. Again well done John. What's next? Back to the Widow? Bruce_Crosby
Great work John! A brilliant idea and well executed. Top marks! In fact the Revell kit is almost certainly cheaper than buying (if anyone did it) a resin wing replacement. I've got two Tamiya kits and another Revell kit so maybe I'll do a quick bit of kit bashing too! Regards, Bruce Crosby CANicoll

CANicoll
Oh wow, its done! Looks great John, and I can't imagine anyone realizing that you mated the Revell wing to the Tamiya Fuselage - looks fantastic! I will have to head over to your WIP thread to see what was required to get the two to match up so perfectly - well done!! Chris
