P Stoner Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Thanks guys - my solution was a little different for the ejection handles to paint the stripes but it appears to have worked reasonably well last night; when I get home tonight I intend to close the fuselage and finally get some pics. Also have the intakes built, the un-needed panel lines on the fuse filled, the front landing gear built (wow like 17 pieces) and some other bits together.... The landing gear are beefy like you said! petrov27 Posted July 19, 2013 Author Posted July 19, 2013 OK, OK, heres some pics! The shots highlight some touch ups needed but I am about ready to say the pit is as good as its gonna get. Lee White and Saber 2
Daywalker Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 AGREED! Office looks spectacular, glad to see the pics!
Nic C.D. Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Woow, that looks nice! I've got to get me one of those! Very inspiring work! Now, let's hope for more photos soon ... ! Nic
Doctorgaz Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Very good work. Only in moderation. I look with pleasure!
petrov27 Posted July 19, 2013 Author Posted July 19, 2013 Thanks everyone for the positive feedback on the 'pit! I am sure now that I am pretty much done with it Eduard will release color photoetch that will make my attempt at the instrument panels look like crud but ah well!
TimW Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Wow! Excellent job! But I know how you feel--Eduard came out with excellent instrumentation for the P-61 after I completed the instrumentation...I was still able to replace it. I don't think you need to do that with yours at all. Which markings are you going with? Tim W.
petrov27 Posted July 19, 2013 Author Posted July 19, 2013 I want to do the Black Panthers Vietnam a/c but am going to probably make my own decals for the tail markings as I am not real happy with what the kit provides for the panther at least...
Youngtiger1 Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Nice to see the photos. The cockpit is looking awesome and I'm with you about the decals.
TimW Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 I guess maybe the seat issue isn't that big a deal. Not sure I'll wait for replacements; but then again I have tons of other projects.
petrov27 Posted July 19, 2013 Author Posted July 19, 2013 Concerning the seats in my pics just FYI these are Quickboost GRU7s (not what came in the kit) I think they look pretty good painted up and I will just swap them to an A-6E build down the road (assuming we see the early seats in resin)
