Thanks a lot, all of you, glad you like it. Didn't have so many replies to a single post yet, must mean I'm doing something right.

Finished the tail wheel today, so it on three wheels now. Didn't take pics yet, that will be for tomorrow. Today wasn't a very productive day, woke up late, had some other things to do and all that, happens sometimes, right? Better luck tomorrow.

Thanks again for watching!

I know, Peter, most planes I see on pics from WWII look pretty clean, so they must have taken good care off them, but I just wanted to try this and I think it makes it look more dynamic so to say, like a plane in action. And my next build will probably be a jet, and when you see one of them with mud on the tires, something went wrong!

WOW what a fantastic build - did you say it was your first after returning? Sure didnt forget how to do it right.

Love it !

Well, I did do a 1/48 scale B-25 before this one, so it's my second. But what I did in the past didn't look like much, was just doing something, didn't have internet, was using what I had at hand. Been investing in materials and equipment now, and learned a lot on sites like this, plus the kits are really a lot better now. So now I want to make them look like miniature planes instead of painted plastic like in the past, And I must say it's already way better then anything I did before, but still a long way to go. Like they say, you never stop learning, right?

  • 2 weeks later...

It's been a while since my last update, but I only did a few things recently.

What I did:

-finished and attached the flaps.

-finished and attached the center line fuel tank and added pin heads for the stabilizers.

-finished the prop

-finished and attached the wing pylons.

So here's some pics of that.

I feel that I'm starting to rush through it a bit because I want to finish this one and start something new so things start getting a bit messy here and there. You probably all know what I mean! Hopefully I will manage to focus my attention for the rest, which still seems like quite a lot, namely the engine, armament, finishing the cowl and some other things. I have to, don't want to start something new before this one is finished.

Thanks, guys!

Looking good. May i ask, how did you get the decals, particularly the stencils, to not silver on the "Silver" paint?

First I put a gloss coat over the basic paint, in this case a floor wax but I think you can use anything as long as it's gloss, and then I used micro set and micro sol to put the decals on. After that a dull coat and it looked like this. Btw, I used decals from Lifelike decals, don't know if the kit decals would have given the same result. But it's a technique I learned from the internet and it works for me.

Very beautiful ''Jug'' my friend, well done. Just look carefully at the starboard wheel, the left one as you looking at it from front, it seems to me a bit offset regarding to the perpendicular axis.

John

Thanks for pointing that out, I thought it was a little off too. You just convinced me to try and correct it, think it's still possible. Thanks again for the welcome feedback!

Thanks for your reply on the Decals.

It may have seemed a stupid question at first, but I thought NMF could not be gloss coated?
