I really enjoy this, as I've always liked the Sabre. One of these days I'll get cracking on my kit.

At last I have a question.

There is a halfring protuding from the right side of the fuselage filled with some rubberlike compound. Seems this is common to all sabres.

Anyone has a hint?

For now that's all. If this topic lives long enough maybe I can get some more information in autum.

That little hump is just an air disruption device to create suction for the oil cap scupper drain, which is the little hole just in front of the bump.

Really appreciate your sharing.  I learned the legacy of F-86 back in the early ‘60 over the Taiwan Strait conflict.

Two questions. One what colour green is that and two does this also apply to the Sabredog as well?

The color appears to be Zinc-chromate green. It is still available in spray cans under aviation coatings. Be careful spraying, it's noxious and toxic.

One of my all time favorite aircraft. I actually built a few RC ducted fan F-86 models (Still have a 1/8th scale kit stashed in the garage) and have been sitting on a Hasegawa 1/32 kit for, well...a LOOOONG time. I have a lot of documentation some where for "Beautious Butch II". Capt. Joseph McConnell's F-86-F Korea circa 1953. This thread just ignited an old flame for me. Just might have to make this my next project.
