1/32 scale Sanger Silverbird

Recommended Posts

my latest scratchbuild project... a 1/32 Sanger 'Silverbird' atmospheric skip bomber ... makes a change from my usual 1/72 fare (the red one with its booster beside the vacuform is to the smaller scale)...

... the original stainless steel wind tunnel model stil survives (@1/50? scale) and is displayed in the 'space gallery' at the Science Museum, South Kensington, London

cheers, Joe

I've never heard of that aircraft Joe - do you have any photos of it you could post for us as a reference point?

I love watching scratch-build threads, so I'm really looking forward to this one!

COOL!

I scratched one in 48 many years ago- BIG beast. This plane was to be launched from a 5 mile launch ramp, under rocket power, and reach a low orbit, and skip across the atmosphere and drop a nuke on NYC, and then re-enter, and land back in Germany 2 hours later
