  1. Yep, looks like 11 quid of it was 'for the privilege'. Royal Mail's 8 quid hostage fee is starting to look almost like a bargain.... almost...
  2. So my ~ 150 Euro order from AK-Interactive has gathered a 39 quid customs charge along with it. Being delivered by DHL, who had a bit of a flap about it coming with a DANGEROUS GOODS IN EXCEPTED QUANTITIES UN 1263 warning, (for a 30ml bottle of enamel paint, I might add), when they called me this morning to confirm what was in it... Guess I won't be ordering direct all that much anymore That's quite a sting.
  3. Crikey when you see that, you can really appreciate just how much work has gone into this model.
  4. I wouldn't count those chickens until they arrive safely and hatch, but that is nicely done!
  5. Lovely build that, makes me look forward to giving mine a bash when I get around to it
  6. Mine arrived today after some postage delays apparently. They look stunning. Thank you so much
  7. I thought you could create private ebay listings? Edit: you can, is this not exactly what you need? https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/listings/listing-tips/private-listings?id=4161 hmm.. perhaps not.. just hides buyer info.. I'm sure there was a way to do this via ebay maybe this https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Archive-Selling-on-eBay/How-can-I-sell-an-item-to-one-individual/td-p/3653207 ?
  8. Ooft, they're gorgeous. Chris, if you get really stuck with the code, or need any pointers. Feel free to drop me a PM, I'd be happy to help where I can. Hopefully to save you some time!
  9. Oh nice, I wondered when this had gone up, as I followed a link to the site just now.. Excellent timing. Minor thing I noticed while passing through (love the updated site btw, gives much more confidence in the legitimacy of the products now! :D) the also be viewed here: Instructions seems to not link to anywhere from the homepage yet.
  10. Ooft gorgeous example. Makes me want to dig mine out and get on with it too. Lovely work!
  11. I grab my dspiae stuff from HM Hobbies, that items listed here They're a partner of Meng, so sometimes you'll see items branded as Meng, other times as Dspiae, just grab whichever is cheapest as there appears to be little difference between the two in reality.
  12. This is the most interesting thing on the menu, but I hope it's not just some toy like thing like their other star wars lines (not including the bandai rebrands of course). Really hope they do it justice... I'm surprised Bandai didn't get the license for that
  13. I concur terrible film. Pedro was definitely not at his best, and it was a bit preachy. Pity, the first one was alright, but this was just.. bad.
  14. Hello, Just checking, are these still available to order?
  15. It's funny how modelling has come full circle back to nice lacquer paint again. Water based acrylics were a much 'friendlier' option, highly adopted by brush painters I think mostly, but they've been stretched a bit to their limit with things like Vallejo's model air and such. But they were never really as good as the hotter more dangerous lacquers for actually getting a nice finish. The Tamiya Acrylics are 'better' but not as good as their new lacquers. The Tamiya range is lovely, and I'm a self confessed lover of MRP as well, no thinning required and that stuff goes down a breeze.
  16. If I could have got the kit for 75 or even 100 I wouldn't have as much criticism. Would love to know where you got it from at that price, and a link. As it is I paid ~130 posted and my parts don't seem to been produced at the level for something of that cost.
  17. I have mine, and I still think it's hugely overpriced for what it is. It's competing with the likes of Tamiya at the price point they've put it and it's not even close. Far too much flash for this kind of price bracket in my opinion.
  18. :O What utter.. genius... They look absolutely superb. I'm absolutely using that technique at some point.
  19. Still and always will be my favourite Jet, in all it's forms. Beautiful job there chap, I have all 3 of the Trumpy kits and they're quite intimidating it must be said. But you appear to have nailed it. More push for me to get round to looking at mine eventually. Bravo
  20. Thank you so much for sharing this, absolutely stunning results, and you can see why, this is a labour of love!
  21. Thanks for sharing the photos, I don't regret my pre-order, but this is the second set of sprue photos of production parts which have quite a bit of flash for a modern 2020 Kit... Especially one for this kind of money... that's a little disapointing, and I do think the panel lines are a bit much, but they're workable/fixable.. They just seem quite out of scale.. as if they modelled it bigger in 3D but used splines to represent the indents... scaled down the thing but forgot to make sure the indentation thicknesses were scaled down with it to match.. they're _very_ wide.. Still it's nice to see a new one I look forward to receiving mine.
