thanks for the support, got some done today.
 
Started with the HUD, i tried to use some prismatic paint (alclad) but when i spray it, it gets white/flat. So, i used a brush, it worked great on the HUD lens.

i tried it on the glass, and fucked it up, so made new ones.

 
and sculpted a new wingbladder

I have alraedy made a start on the front spoiler
its a lot off clean up but iff you do it good it will save you some trouble at the end

After that its time to start working on the rear suspinsion

Well, i think Vandy one, but have 2 VF-101 sets , VF-11 set, and a vf-2 set.  At this moment i can still go for a late B model or a D, i have some 6sets for B, so, i think it would be difficult to decide now. more progress pics from the wing.
 

just arrived you can't have two many books.  
 

 

A concerted effort over the weekend has pushed me really close to the finish line. 6" away the models looks ok - 1" away and there are *LOTS* of issues but I wanted this one off the shelf of doom and finished. Even with the damaged windscreen! 
 
I will take a couple more shots when the very last bits are completed tomorrow and then RFI once I get a few shots outside. Thanks for everyone for your comments and help along the way.

Indeed, I am passionate about TWO hobbies;   Building models and collecting models.   They are definitely two separate hobbies, and may, or may not be related.  

This is kit is often overlooked or forgotten about, however it is truly an outstanding model

Now there’s a year of modeling in a box if I ever saw one!

As I was wandering around Cosford on Sunday two kits took my eye, a HK Lancaster at £300 and a ZM Ki 45 at £120 but I walked past both, the Lancaster is way beyond my self imposed £100 limit and is far to big for me to display, and the Ki 45 is a ZM kit which I think of as over engineered but for a Japanese twin I would break the £100 limit.
Having hobbled around the whole show I was having second thoughts about the Ki-45 so returned to the stand only to find that it was gone and the only other one I could find was £130 so we came home home kitless.
The next day urged on by my "better" half I scanned the internet and found a Ki-45 for £118 with postage from Jumblies Models, a few days later this arrived in a huge box. So now I can see if the kit is as good as people say it is.

The first of several books ordered this month, arrived today, another Legends of Warfare book, this time on the Panzer IV. While I already have a fair amount of reference on the IV, more is always welcome.

Finished photos of my TAMIYA,Inc. 1/32 F-16CJ.
 
Built with AMS Resin ECM pod and L/h HARM pod, Eduard Model Accessories SNIPER pod, MASTER Static Dischargers, AIRES HOBBY MODELS wheels, GT Resin R/h targeting pod pylon and VideoaviationGBU-38s. Decals were a mixture of kit and Astra Decals. Painted with MRP & Mr Hobby.
 
Seat belts are scratch built, Bomb rack is robbed from the Academy Hornet.
 
I was planning on using the Quickboost seat and Aires wheel wells but they both were far too small!

So my 2nd Typhoon is now complete.  Aftermarket resin seat, wheels, cannons and metal rockets were added and finished using Tamiya paints and oils for weathering.  Which is my favourite of the 2?  Like children I'm sure you arnt supposed to choose but for me as much as i love this one and it was the one i started first the desert scheme (see link below)just has it for me.  What next?  well definitely not a Typhoon!  The HB B24 is calling me from my stash as long as i can come to terms with the turrets!  my immediate problem though is what to do with 2x 1/24 Typhoons that won't fit in my display cabinet!!  Cheers  Matt
 
 



















 
 
 

This time the A-4M Sky Hawk model.
Model from Trumpeter scale 1:32, made as always straight from the box.
The model is easy to fold and fits on every shelf.
 

The Car door is the first across the finish line in my dual Typhoon build.  It has been a great kit finished in Tamiya and Gunze paints and oils for weathering.  A take away for future projects is to dry fit every component before paint as this will make final assembly a little less fraught!!  Cheers
