Wonder if that includes stuff supposedly in development?  While I loved their 1/48th UH-1D, would love a larger scale one (I know it was all rumors). With the current conflict in Ukraine, doubtful that we'll see anything from ICM either. Otherwise my old 1/32 Huey sits in the build pile silently waiting to be restarted...

It would be nice to see a large scale Huey in 1/35 scale.

I for one was very bummed when I heard they shut down as the next H-60 model to be released was supposed to have been a MH-60M.

  2. Well today I got the chance before work to finally lay down some stylenrez primer on the tailboom of my MH-60L. (Sorry, no pics were taken)

Let me say that I shook the snot out of the bottle and poured it straight into my airbrush and sprayed it at the recommended 30psi.

Boy, does it lay down great! Great coverage after 2 coats and dries fairly quickly.

Afterwards I cleaned it using a 3 step process.

    1) Fill the AB cup up with Isopropyl alcohol and spray out.

    2) Fill the cup with Tamiya lacquer thinner and spray out.

    3) And finally, fill the cup with Tamiya Airbrush cleaner and spray out.

I then pulled out the needle and cleaned it and everything was good.

My steps might be overkill, but it worked for me!

Any of you more experienced guys want to chime in, I'm all ears!!!

PS-The only thing I didn't do was strain the primer as i dont have a strainer.

Looking good. Please take your time. Modeling is never a race to the finish.

    Thanks Oliver!

I've been working on this for a better part of 3 years I think.

Wanting to get it done for a contest at the end of the month, so fingers crossed it gets finished!

  4. After a long break on Super 63, I decided to get back working on it.

Honestly, i just lost my mojo and needed to take a break seeing I am working on multiple builds.

So anyways, I finally was able to start laying down paint on the small pieces such as the cargo doors.

They were painted with Vallejo NATO black which looks like the black the 160th helos use.

Along with that, the airframe is ready for the primer stage after I cover up the openings with foam.

I bought a light booth setup, so hopefully the pics start to turn out better.

The cargo doors are weathered, but still need a gloss coat and decals. The door seals were painted with Tamiya Sky Grey.

    Chow for now!

  5. I have a small area of my cockpit that is not already gloss coated. What's the alternative for applying a gloss coat seeing an airbrush can't be used.

It's a small "No Handle " decal for the side of a sliding armor panel that's black in color on my 1/35 MH-60L pilot seat.

I tried brushing it on another model once, and it looked like crap. Like someone had brushed on "something" in that area.

    Looking for some help please?

  6. I can't speak for the fixed wing side, but I loved the helicopter line. Hope the helos are rereleased later on. The fuselage fit on the H-60's was a task, but nothing an average modeler's skills can't overcome.

The only bad thing I will say is that when myself and another UH-60 crew chief, Floyd Werner and a couple of other guys including a Pave Hawk crew chief would make a suggestion for fixing a design flaw in the molds, some of them were completely ignored. (We were subject matter experts, who helped design the H-60 models in the first place).

You would've thought they would have listened, but on some parts of the kit, they just dropped the ball.

  7. 36 years for me!

    My class # was 21-86.

I was actually in 20-86, but I hit the ground going backwards on my 2nd jump and it knocked me out with a TBI. Had to be medevaced off the DZ and got recycled to 21-86.
