  1. I agree with you, I'm just looking at the drawing and that's what I understand of it. Now, what can be seen in 1/32? That is perhaps the important question at this point. On another part of the drawing: the wheel well opening is very noticeably oval, and you mentioned you sanded it to a round shape? I curious about this. Alain edit: I checked the build thread and the resulting opening is oval as it should be!
  2. If you look at the smaller fairing, notice that it is cut away, so the remaining outline visible on the wing surface could logically be the shape of the opening. So it would follow the shape of the fairing. Alain
  3. Very interesting work on the radiator. I had no knowledge of all that piping! Alain
  4. Very interesting work Max! Your Lightning is coming along well. Your comment on the deck landing made me imagine a RN version with folding wings. Something to do in 1/72 for fun! Alain
  5. Great (and unexpected) comeback ! The foil looks fantastic! Alain
  6. Beautifully painted cockpit! Kit or resin? Alain
  7. I like the worn paint finish. Very striking! Alain
  8. Very nice! I like the variations in the colours. The weathered effect is very effective! Alain
  9. Beautiful work Alex! Lovely model! Good luck for your next project! Alain
  10. PhilB: Actually 3 RAF Spitfires were shot down by IAF Spits (+1 RAF Spit initially by groundfire). Later that day, a RAF Tempest was also shot down by a IAF Spitfire later that day. Alain
  11. Hi Ted, I don't mind if you assemble the kit out of the box essentially! These builds are fun to do and watch too. Alain
  12. Excellent work! Those alternating rivets on the spinner are awesome! Alain
  13. What a beautiful Spitfire! The colors look spot on! Alain
  14. Great work on the engines Max! Looks like the fit was pretty good with the vac parts. Alain
  15. Nice paint scheme! I like the way the kit was designed with the core holding the cockpit and representing the ducting to the engine. Alain
  16. I think that length varies exponentially according to your age: As a kid, it is a couple hours, as an adult, It can last a decade. Alain
  17. Very interesting build Thierry! The discussion on the corrections is highly enlightening! Alain
  18. You can't really compare the E and the G, especially the one you have pictured here, as it is missing the rubber seal that Mike mentioned. However, you are correct! There is a gap visible on the top part of the cowl. The fit seems tighter on the sides, however. Alain
  19. I have the same problem with my kit. It was in the stash for a few years until I opened the box to check it out and the lining had become so brittle it broke as I exerted the slightest pressure. I bought another kit and the soft parts are fine (for now!). I was thinking of making a mold and cast a spare set for my first kit and another if the new parts go bad also. Alain
  20. I had exactly the same impression myself when looking at that picture! And maybe a Matchbox kit also. Frankly, I find this hard to comprehend. Alain
  21. Hi Richard! Mike has given you great photos that show the hatch well. I agree the photo of Red 2 is the best to use for your model. You can clearly make out the thin raised panel outline. Note the top of it is approximately at the same level as the hand hold, and a bit lower than the horizontal bracing of the rear canopy section. Alain
