  1. Eduard redid most of the PE for the F model...I got most of my stuff from sprue brothers, masterdetails.com and resin2 details.com. Picked up some of that wood grain decal paper to do the floors with. Also have the resin exhaust stacks/ turbochargers too.
  2. Wow...where to begin! I'm going to build mine as "Knockout Dropper"...I've bought Eduard wheels...found a number 2 engine on eBay for almost nothing. Have the Master brass gun barrels...quickboost guns too. Most of the Eduard PE...nose, cockpit, bomb bay, radio room, waist gun and exterior. Didn't get the flaps...have those up. Picked up resin O2 bottles, de-icer ducts, seats and control yokes and Live Resin bullet belts. Kit's World "Knockout Dropper" decals and national insignia decals and stencils. Like a custom car you can go from "mild to wild" with this kit! Want to build mine in a diorama with mechanics working on number 2 engine..with a couple maintenance guys drinkin coffee and smoking by a line shack in it's parking spot. Maybe take a kit wheel and tire and sand it down like a tire changed off to the side. Haven't started mine yet...every time I open the box it's just..."WOW...this is a big B-17F"!!!!!!!!! Look at Sprue Brothers or eBay for your wish list! Kinda get your plan together and go! Hope this helps...Ron
  3. Duh...John was the first to orbit on an Atlas......
  4. Nice! "God Speed John Glenn"....agree with Jennings....Gemini/Titan and....a Saturn 1B. I have the 72nd Saturn V in a IKEA display case!
  5. I really hope they do release a 2 seat F-104! I remember seeing 2 seat D models flying at Edwards AFB on chase missions with the X-15 and other test projects there in the late 50's. Love the howl of the J-79 when the pilot would pull the power off during the landing.
  6. B-24D...all black "carpetbagger". They did amazing things flying at night, low level behind enemy lines to drop equipment or "Joes". No radar or NVG's...Special Operations traces it's heritage back to those guys.
  7. Awesome pictures! I have been to Korea in the winter and it is a different kind of cold...Brrrrrrr! Anybody else have the M*A*S*H song in their head looking for the choppers?? Thanks for sharing those!!
  8. I have 2 B-24D kits...want to build one as a black "carpetbagger"...this will be fun to watch progress. Maybe I'll learn something to use on mine!
  9. Very cool! Very realistic wear on the paint. I've been dragging the 1/24th Bandai Shinden around for YEARS!
  10. WOW! Nice MIG 23's...the worn radome and wing sweep streaks and overall appearance look really real! I walked around and sat in the cockpit of the MIG 23 at the museum at Nellis AFB.
  11. A 32nd B-24D....all black "carpetbagger" or a sand Ploesti Raider....
  12. Great work! I have that same kit and sadly it's back in the box but maybe watching you build yours will motivate me to get mine going again.
  13. Definitely needs a trip to the paint shop! Is that an F-5 stenciled on the intake?
  14. I've been wondering how much to cut the struts on my F model as well. I think I'm going to cut mine and then drill both ends and put a length of stainless steel wire in to hold it together. All the airplanes I ever crewed...C-5A/B...C-130E and MC-130P/MC-130H all had nitrogen in the struts so temp didn't make any difference.
  15. Uncle Ho did not like the Intruder! Looks perfect for a deployed air wing during the Vietnam war...and flying off my favorite aircraft carrier of the time. Great Job!!
  16. Love IAF aircraft....especially the F-4E! That F-16A is really nice. Was an Iraq nuclear reactor raider too! I have a SUFA to build...need a new intake without the vents to start!!
  17. Another "dirty bird"....beautiful! At least the plane captain/crew chief has the canopy clean!!!
  18. The Phantom II is my Phavorite Phighter! Really nice job! They did get dirty deployed on ship...looks awesome. I really want to build a Navy/Marine F-4 dirtied up sitting in the desert at AMARC (bone yard) out of it's naval element. Miss the sound of those J-79's.....Great job!!!!
  19. Would love a 2 seat F-104D done up as a Edwards chase plane in the early 60's!!!
  20. Great job! I'm waiting on Attack Squadron wheels, engines and props and sponsons for my 48th C-130...have to decide which one to build.
  21. Jimmy Stewart would be proud......
  22. Now we need a small mouth without the vents on the side for the Israeli AF SUFA!!!!!
  23. Wow! I love everything flight test at Edwards! Both of those are super well done. My dad was stationed at Edwards from 58-64 and I remember seeing the X-15 takeoff under the B-52 and slide back home on the dry lake bed. All those F-104 and F-100 chase planes and the NF-104A was flying too. Went back in 1969 to 1972. What a great place to be in that age of aviation and flight test. Great job on both those great planes! "Got any Beaman's...loan me a stick will ya"
