  1. Well this post is not about getting new models... I finally found my new house and moved in july. I love the new place its amazing!!

today I unboxed all of my stash and my Mojo went 175%!! i want to build it all NOW!!

the biggest decision is what will be the FIRST build in this new house

all bets are in but ATM but the top list is looking like

    1. Bandai SW kit
    2. 1/24 typhoon
    3. 1/32 Tomcat

but just looking at the pic my mind is like but wait what about....

cmon guys help me out !

  2. There potential, i was going to get their razor crest since the revell one was unoptanium in North America. But its good but not good enough, managed to get the Revel in the end.

In the video all the older kits they showed i wonder if it just rebox of the old stuff or new tooling? Atat atst bwing ect

The biggest icon we are missing is the tydirium shuttle ideally in Bandai quality at 1/72 to pair with the xwing and ties

Well, against my better judgment, I fell for the ".reservation only, will not be sold" mumbo jumbo

I've had it with trying to source stuff that becomes rare.  I can always sell it if I don't want it, especially if they really don't mass produce this one?

    Right?

I think the reservation only, will not be sold" mumbo jumbo was for the resin figure that is for pre orders only

    Mine arrived today....wow!

But being an AMS modeller, I'll probably wait and see what Quinta and Eduard come up with...honestly, at minimum I'd only want instrumentation decals beyond what the kit has.

Oh, and 5th Air Force markings!  I want my PTO Havoc!

    Cheers,

    Tim W.

Check out the aiscale release looks amazing

  6. If it went all the way back to plastic then its not the ak paint,it would be if the primer stayed in place. if those spots look like fingers. Could be finger grease, i never wash my models, but i do wipe them down with pharmacy rubbing alcohol

The only time i had this kind of issue was when using alcladII black primer.

On the note of other primer, ive started using badger stynylrez primer works really good for large surfaces but a real PITA if you ever want todo touch ups as you have to use a super large needles and 30psi, i.e goes everywhere

hmm that looks like a workable idea25207-1024-3ww-l.jpg

I Have couple of these, work great for weathering and post shading, buti think the scorchbrite is more efficient because it contour with the model.

I have the metal and paper version and unless the surface is flat uta a PITA to use.

Also price wise, scotchbrite is unbeatable and dont have to fight to clean it.

Thanks for the rip im definately gona use this.

I have some super corse brown ones for sanding wood that will do great as they are very porous

  8. Ive been noticing in the last couple years that some subjects are comming out all at once from different manufacturers.

    In 1/48 we have 3 new f-14's(amk,tamiya,gwh) new f-4(academy, tamiya zm), f-18(meng, kinetic, )

In 1/32 we got mosquito(tamiya ,hk, landcaster(hk border) ect

My theory on this is that someone is making the data/details available and selling to multiple manufacturers making it more viable to make models out of it. The timing makes me think there something causing this.

Not complaining at all but its just odd.

Loving these new 1/16 scale tanks, havent decided to get one yet as ive only ever built 2 tanks but this is tempting. I always found armor in 1/35 is like 1/48 equivalent to planes, dont mind in love in in some cases but 1/16  armor is really attractive to me

I've just been catching up with a TV series I recorded here in the UK called 'Hornby: A Model World'.

Hornby are the owners of the Airfix brand, plus others.

In it, Lyndon Davies, CEO Hornby, enquired about the Hellcat, a kit that had apparently been in development for some time. On seeing it, he insisted it be released as a statement to the wider modeling world that Airfix were back in serious business.

He was advised the estimated sales figures wouldn't stack up.

    So, that's why.

    From the horses mouth!

    Interesting story

But i do have to confess my deeply crooked mind read

    Hornby: A Model World

    As

A 1/24th scale McDonnell F-4 Phantom II would have a huge market, and its shelf footprint is not really bigger than a Mosquito in the same scale.

I could see a lot of model makers of all ages being utterly thrilled by a big FG.1/F-4K Spey Toom. It would need folding rather than optional folded wings, or swappable outer wings to further reduce its display footprint, but would very likely be the kit of the decade.

An E.E.Lightning F.6 would be just as wonderful, but I don't think the Americans or Asians would buy stacks of them.

If it's a propellery subject I'd rather Airfix invested in a 1/48 Halifax or 1/72 Bristol Britannia.

    Tony

Now this could be a million dollar idea, IF they do it right!

Never tought about it before but now that you mentioned it i want one!

If they do a prop id live a sea furry. Monney wise corsair would sell well

Ppl keep mentioning the meteor, did we just get a good one in 1/32 ? I dont think that would sell much in 1/24

I think ideal is to have something with folding wings, that dosent necessarily have a great 1/32 counterpart this kinda takes the corsair out but does welcome in the F-86 minus the folding wings.

    Its a tricky balance.

But Tony nust threw a wrench in with that monney printing f4, folding wings, no amazing 1/32 counterpart (taiya kit is getting kld and need a ton of am), would have infinite markings...

    In 1/24 scale I see:

    Spitty mkI, Hurri mk I, 109E, Stuka, FW190 & Harrier - Airfix 1970s-ish

    A6m5, George, & a really bad 109E, and equally bad P51D- Bandai

    Trumpy- A6m2 + A6m2n, 109G & K, a good Hurri mk I, Spitty mkVb + floatplane, FW 190d9

    VFS did a P40

I 'm not sure on the newer 24th kits, perhaps someone can add to this list.

If we know what's been done, we might have a better picture on what might be.

Vfs did 2 p47 razorback and bubble top. They were purchased and reboxed by Kinetic

To that lis, airfix did a p-51, f6f, 2x tylhoons

Are the Trumpeter kits really that bad? I've read, generally not - although the reviews are very mixed, to say the least.

    Chris.

Ive built the trumpeter 109g late and its a great kit. Maybe not 100% accurate but i love building it and it looks great.
