Good to see you still plodding along Anthony. Keep at it so you can finish the best British Toom in 1/32 ever.

And do not make my mistake by nearly failing in sight of the finishline. I accidentally used Tamiya flat base instead of matt clear
and had a hell of a time to clean off the white soot. It has been clean now again and hope to finish the model in a few days.
    Fingers crossed.
    Cheers

There you have it, despite my slow building I have finished my FGR-2 and no HKM kit on the horizon

due to the photobucket foul-up I don’t use photohosting services anymore, but pics can be seen at LSM.

    Thank you MARU....getting there!

Thanks Chuck, that means a lot buddy!  yes I kinda painted myself into a corner regarding detailing.  I was kinda hoping at the onset of this build that using the WH conversion ment all the hard work was done and I would fairly quickly have a Brit Phantom!  As you see this was not the case and I just could not leave the wheel wells the way they were.  Having said that it was an exercise in practicing my plumbing shills and other things, and I kinda enjoyed it.

    Cockpit...I'm getting to it

Thanks for chiming in there @Gene K to help Michael out.

Well I am nearly at the finish line with these main gear bays, a couple of decals(instruction placards and some coloured ID stripes on some of the plumbing lines), a bit of a wash and flat coat

As always guys, I note every reaction and reply, it really helps me along, on a project I didnt think would be this long winded.  I appreciate those of you still tuned in!

    Cheers Anthony

Same here, this is a fantastic example of achieving the definitive RAF Spey Toom. Mine is in the final stages of completion over on LSM but nowhere in the same league as Anthony's.

    Jim,
If that photograph is taken in flight then the airpressure would indeed show more of the ribs. On the ground however that is very much less pronounced.
    Hope this helps.
    Great project.

Nice progress, how are you going to tackle the attachement of the wings to the fuselage?

That is definintely good news for the Spey Phantom fans. Too late for me now that my Tamiya/Revell kitbash is nearly finished. But I may be tempted to do another one.

Got my kit yesterday and it looks great. I will drop everything I was working on and start right away (can be followed on LSM due to the Photobucket debacle).

That looks very nice already. But please refrain from calling people with a lot of knowledge on the Spitfire: Experten. Same as painting RAF camo in RLM colours.

Very nice subject and right up my alley. I have a stalled Revell kit and Trumpeter fuselage halves in use as a paint mule. Hmmmm.
Good to see you back in action Dave.

Small update, but a big milestone for me!

Fins going in finally.  Fitting each one individually seems to be the best/tidiest way to go About 120 off individual fins to go, then I can glue the intakes on!

Will be tedious but I think will all be worth it in the end

    Cheers Anthony
