  1. Hi Palmtree, thanks for the heads-up on the canopy. I have been on a quest for this kind of coating for years without success but now it would appear that my prayers have been answered. I hope they are popular and that AFV Club extends the range to include more 1/32nd scale jets. I've seen their Sufa canopy and the A-10 version (although I've never noticed this effect on real A-10s... ) but we could do with one for the F-18C and F-16 single seaters now. Possibly even one for the F-15s also although the effect is less pronounced on the Eagles from what I've seen. Cheers.
  2. Hi Ted, I've looked at this one so I'll follow your build with interest. Please take plenty of pics along the way so we can see how it goes together. Cheers.
  3. Inspirational progress Peter. You make it all look so easy (though I doubt it is). I wonder if this sort of stuff would translate to a 1/32nd scale dH-88 Comet..... Watching this has me itching to scratch-build something. Keep it up and thanks for taking the time to show each step of the process in glorious detail, much appreciated. Cheers.
  4. That is a superb shot Chris. The proportions and look are just right. Great work, keep it up.
  5. Beautifully sharp, clean work Anthony. So much so in fact, your images could be mistaken for CGI. Extremely cool.
  6. Hi Kels, A very neat start to your Spitfire project. It seems that we share similar ideas on some subjects as this is something that I have wanted to do for quite a while. The look of the rippled skin on the wings is very convincing. On my monitor the effect appears nicely random, particularly on the upper wings, something often overlooked by others who have attempted this technique. Nice job. I'm eager to see how this build develops. Keep up the innovative work. Cheers.
  7. Whilst we are talking about air experience flights, anyone know which airframes were based at RAF Syerston through the '80s?
  8. Wow! This should be exciting to watch. Go Peter, go.....
  9. Sharp progress Ron. Nearly there now.

  11. Very innovative approach Iain. The overlapping panels look great on my monitor. The rivets look superb too. Thanks for showing everything in so much detail. It makes things so much easier for those of us planning to follow along. Keep up the top notch work. Cheers.
  12. Marvellous work Robin. Congratulations on a superb result. Not only does your model look like a Chipmunk but the finish is also flawless. You are a very talented individual sir. Well done. If you consider this creation a success I hope that you are still aiming to release the model in kit form? Have you given any thought to price, release dates, etc? Cheers.

  14. Hey Jack, I agree with everything you said. Just don't hold your breath.........
  15. Super detail images Rod, thanks for sharing them.
  16. Love that free-spinning propellor. The added details on the canopy look splendid. Keep it up.
  17. That sucks Peter. Sorry to see your issues. It's hard to conceive of an easy correction for this particular dilemma. It would appear that the gap is quite large and removal of material at the edges of the IP would n't be enough. It's a huge pity. I hope that you manage to find a solution. Short of building a new IP, I'm stumped. Good luck.
  18. @ Rod. Good to know, thanks. @Robin. Super work once again. This is all mighty impressive. Please keep it up.
  19. Great minds think alike Kev....... Hi Hubert, thank you for the explanation. Your response explains why Martin has n't responded to the same question over on Britmodeller. Hubert, are you the gentleman who has commisioned Martin to build this model?
  20. Great choice of colour scheme Robin. Reminds of a recent build of mine: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=253243 Much smaller and not nearly as nice as yours but alot of fun all the same. The RAF BBMF had on of their airframes in this colour scheme recently (the inspiration for my build ) http://www.airliners.net/photo/UK---Air/De-Havilland-DHC-1/2089398/L/&sid=e985ae6936ccd2ff391c2f68090f6614 Your paintwork looks exemplary on my monitor. Smooth and precise, just like your scratch building. Every update is a treat. Thank you for sharing the progress. Cheers. Edit: Just looking through more Chippy images on Airliners. Found this as a bit of inspiration...... http://www.airliners.net/photo/De-Havilland-DHC-1/2430347/M/&sid=c9861d1b822664c1fcc3730245f63fff
  21. Once again Robin, exemplary workmanship. It is a pleasure to see your creations. Thank you for taking the time to share your scratch-built masterpieces here. Cheers.
  22. I do like the look of the two-seat Su- Great work so far.
  23. Hi Iain, A very cunning plan indeed and a super improvement to the look of th Revell kit. The thing is, with what you and Derek are doing to correct this kit I'm feeling exhausted. I don't know if I've got the energy to build mine. Stick with it, it certainly looks better than it did. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the overlapping panels. Cheers.
