  1. Hey Jake, Happy New Year. Thanks for the heads-up. This looks like another "must have" volume from Reid Air Publications. Please keep us posted when we can order. Cheers.
  2. Agreed I've been hoping that Tamiya might release this version as one of their Uber kits but I'll be happy to just have one on the shelves. If Revell have managed to capture the look of the early Spitfire then that's half the battle. Well done Revell.
  3. Hi Timmy!, Happy New Year to you. The latest update looks superb as usual. Nothing replicates metal better than metal. The panels look so realistic and will look even better under a coat of paint. Now a plea.......please, please, please don't smooth and fill the panels. The bumps and ripples, dents and other surface irregularities are all visible on full sized airframes and add to the authentic feel of your model. I have long wished to create a true representation of an aircraft's skin in model form and you are well on the way to achieving it. Keep up your incredible journey. Cheers.
  4. Hey thomba, welcome aboard. This looks like an enjoyable project. You've made a neat start so far. I look forward to more progress. Cheers.
  5. Hi Eric, the turnbuckles look good to my untrained eye which is why I was asking your opinion. I don't have any reference photos to compare what they should look like as I generally don't build biplanes. It would appear that this is your first too, something I was unaware of when I asked my question. I was keen to see that they do indeed represent the correct scale dimensions of the actual article. Regardless of whether or not they are correct, from your photos they look as good as I've ever seen on a model. Top job.
  6. Wow! These new turnbuckles look superb. Given a coat of paint and a wash, the detail should really "pop". Eric, how would you say the look to scale? Are the 1/32nd scale versions right on the money or, like some other products (I'm thinking carbon fibre decals), do you think the 1/48th scale versions would look better on a 1/32nd scale model? Thanks for the mini review. Interested to see more when you have them all done. Cheers.
  7. Nicely done Jake and a neat job on all of the extra touches like the scratched travel pod etc. It may have taken a while but it was worth the wait.
  8. Hi Zero77, very nice work so far. I like the beaten up, faded appearance of the jets in your photos. Are you planning to replicate the worn out look too?
  9. Hi Richard, great to see where the magic takes place. Thanks for sharing the shots of your workshop. There is one thing that you could consider adding at some time though,......a gallery/viewing area. That way you could sell tickets and let modellers sit and watch you work! I'd pay money for that. Keep up the stellar work and a Happy New Year to you and your missus.
  10. Good to see you making speedy progress on this new engine Oliver. It's just as good, if not better, this time around. Have you taken the castors off your chair?
  11. Welcome aboard Brad and thanks for starting a build thread on this kit. This marque of Spitfire is probably my favourite so I hope I can follow along and see how it builds up. I'd very much like an early "BoB" Spitfire in my display case and sincerely hope that Tamiya eventually deign to give us one of their uber versions. Until that happens, I'll build one vicariously via your project. You've made a start so please post more soon and Happy New Year to you. Cheers.
  12. WoW!! I don't have the vocabulary to describe how wonderful that looks. Almost speechless. What a truly beautiful aeroplane. Thanks for the link Anthony I can imagine a number of Airfix kits being built worldwide in this livery from now on........
  13. What a beautiful MiG Karl, well done. Your work has really improved the look of the base Revell kit. All of the scratch built corrections and additional Zactomodel resin has transformed the model. Very inspirational.
  14. Congratulations on completing an epic model Karl. My hat's off to you for your ingenuity, tenacity and overall modelling skill. Very well done.
  15. It might interest you to know that Alley Cat models is planning an Avro 504 in 1/32nd scale. I spoke to him at Telford in November where he was displaying. Perhaps WNW will beat him to it but if not, at least one is on the way.
  16. Aww man, you're putting me to shame. Those bypass vents look superb. I'm stalled on them on my build as I can't figure out how to scratch all of the angles. You make it look so easy. Great work on the nose gear bay too. I can't believe how quickly you're getting this together. It can feel like a big waste of time adding all of that detail but at least you know it's there, right? It's the same story in the main gear bays bro'. With the doors and cheek pylons in place, much of the pipework will be invisible with the 'Cat on her gear. (Just trying to save you a little time and effort. ) Keep us all updated on your progress Fred, I'm going to be glued to this build. Cheers.
  17. I checked on the F-15C and the discount brings the price down to $118. That's great. Unfortunately it costs a minimum of $57 to ship to the UK taking the price up to $175 I'll just have to keep scouring this side of the pond for a bargain. Edit: Smelling Spelling
  18. This has been long awaited. It looks like a large model and there are about a zillion parts. Trumpeter should be commended for bringing out so many large scale models. Inevitably there will be those who find errors with the kit but any kit manufacturer can't win all the time. The A-6 is not my particular cup of tea so I won't be dabbling but since I know nothing about the aircraft it certainly looks like an Intruder on the sprues to me. Good job Trumpeter.
  19. Yep, I hear you Phil. It's a beautiful model but it is also a chunk of change at £153.90. Free shipping in the UK though....
  20. Hi guys, Just a heads-up that the HK B-25 Strafer is available at Hannants. http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/HKM01E02 for anyone that has n't got one on pre-order. I don't have the room for a Mitchell but imagine there will be many who do. Cheers
  21. I like the idea of a new tool Mosquito in 1/32nd scale, particularly if it was the glass nose version. I could probably find space in my cabinet for one of those. I'd be even more interested if it were Tamiya although I think that is unlikely. As far as the "verbal hand grenade" goes, it is irritating when someone does that but at least we all now know there is one in the works somewhere,..by someone....at sometime,..........possibly
  22. That's a very sharp looking Hunter Martin. Superb job on the paint finish and decals. What a handsome model.
  23. This WNW stuff is infectious. Very inspirational stuff Brian.
