Hubert Boillot
Thank you Shaka. But the preliminary exams for the urgently-required operation of the cervical vertebrae have revealed an as-urgently required operation for a cancer (she has had 5 already, and was officially in remission since 2012). So the forthcoming weeks promise to be a big turmoil, unfortunately. Modelling, when I find time physically near the bench, should be a mind derivative for me, hopefully Hubert Edited January 30, 2017 by MostlyRacers Shaka HI and Lee White

LSP_Kevin
Really sorry to hear about your wife, Hubert. For reasons I've not yet discussed on the forums, I know exactly how you feel. I hope all medical interventions are successful, and she makes a full and swift recovery. Hubert Boillot
Thank you John, Kev, Brian, Jim, Alain, Max, Lothat (and Maru in my other thread) Maybe a bit more about what I am going through, just as a way the expel the worry, rather than keep it inside and have it bear on my back and provoke a lumbago as in the last week ... When I met Patricia in 2011, she was following a chemotherapy treatment for both a stomach and liver cancer. These were #4 and #5 in her list, as she had had already to be treated for a cancer of colon, with 32 cms of intestine removed, and after that a full hysterectomy and ovariectomy. The last treatment seemed to have worked, and we thought the remission phase, started in July 2012, was for good... Lately, she was suffering from severe and crippling pains in the cervical area and in the lombar area. The neck pains have finally been identified as caused by some multiple cervical hernia, requiring urgent surgery (a double operation in a span of 3 weeks). As a safety measure, the neuro-surgeon asked for a MRI exam of the lombar area. Unfortunately, this has revealed that the back pain was caused by a double tumor, whose cancerous nature has been ascertained at 98%. So next week, the program is something like have a PET scan on wednesday morning to have final confirmation of the nature of the tumors, followed on wednesday noon by an appointment with an oncologist, followed by an entry in hospital for the first cervical operation on thursday, followed by a transfer on friday to the specialised cancer unit in Lyon. To compound the bad news sequence, my company's assistant had been diagnosed a liver cancer in june last year, succesfully operated in july. After a few weeks recovery, which had us all very happy and buoyant, she started to endure terrible pains on the right side, which had her in hospital under heavy medication for 3 months. I learned 4 weeks ago that the pains were in fact caused by an non-operable brain tumor. 10 days ago, I was told that the radiotherapy treatments were inoperative and she was given two weeks to live. She died last monday ... Modelling will be a form a therapy for me, I'm sure ... Hubert Edited February 5, 2017 by MostlyRacers
LSP_Kevin
That's terrible news all round, Hubert. I'm so sorry for both your wife's situation, and for the tragedy that befell your assistant. I really have my fingers crossed for both you and your wife, and wish you both the best for the coming testing weeks. Modelling therapy is prescribed, for sure. ClumsyDude
Jeez Hubert, I'm really sorry to hear that. I can certainly vouch for modelling as therapy ... I have been through some pretty tough times over the last five years and the big tomcat diorama was my refuge for that. Good luck mon frère. mgbooyv8
Hubert, That is tragic and awful news. I wish your wife a full recovery! Hope that modelling will be a good therapy for you in these hard times. Peter Hubert Boillot
Hubert Boillot
Many thanks Jim and Peter. Your support is'much appreciated. As other posts on LSP have shown, I am not the only one to face this situation. I could not really find much time for modelling in the last two weeks, but LSP is a place where I can "resource" and I have clear intentions to get back to the bench as soon as the circumstances will allow me.
