Fokker Dr. I 'Skeletal'

Recommended Posts

It's time for a little update.

Been working on the wings on an off, trying to get an acceptable finish before painting.

So I'm starting to add some wood grain to the spars and ribs, keeping it light.

I intend to use Uschi von der Rosten veneer decals for the leading edges of the wings...

A stunning piece of work !! Respect !!

Thank you Thomas, I'm struggling a bit with the fragile parts, this project has really brought me to the edges of my skills and a little further too, way beyond my comfort zone... ;)

Yep, that's great work on the wood grain. I will be interested to see how you get on with the wood grain decals. That's way beyond my comfort zone for sure.

Haven't tried wood grain decals myself, maybe I should avoid it altogether?

I tried Ushi's 'original' wood decals and it worked out great - I expect the new version to be better still...

Don't avoid them on my account. I don't fancy them but that is because I have trouble getting a roundel decal to sit on a wing!

Awesome work Kent. If you don't have problems with decals i expect you don't get problems with the wooddecals. Just go for it.
