Shawn M
got the pilot, seat and stick set into final place. A scrap of resin under the seat set it at just the right height. the gunsight...well....sucked so I resculpted and detailed it onto the fuse prep work I sprayed a layer of Vallejo GunMetal Big Texan, Alain Gadbois, BradG and 3 others
Shawn M
I knew the bulkhead would block light and views into the lack of intake. So I painted in some faux depth. although not perfect it does the trick hard to tell but there are 3 different metal colors here While the pilot dries, I've chromed the landing light and have started work on the IP as it needs to go in prior to the stuffing the fuse like a thanksgiving turkey Gazzas, BradG, TorbenD and 3 others
Gazzas
Shawn, Just discovered this thread. Some nice work hap-nin. Great result on the pilot. I was gonna ask what has to be done to the Trumpy MiG to make it pure Russki. Now I have a reference. Gaz Shawn M
Shawn M
thank you Gaz There is a lot that needs to be done to make it "correct". While the Eduard PE set is great and comprehensive, I would scratch build the cockpit details next time. The rudders(s) and elevators are missing the mass balances and will need those added, there are 2 trim tabs on the ailerons and only one is needed, all the flight surfaces have square leading edges and need to be contoured, the hinges on the bottom of the ailerons are total BS, the tail shape is incorrect, the intake ducting non existent, the canon barrels are junk and will be replaced by master units, the surface of the model is pebbly and needs sanding, the canopy needs to be replaced (by Squadron VAC or the new HAD unit coming on market), there are some fictional panels, incomplete panel engraving, etc lol sandokan
Shawn M
with the ip done and cockpit installed i glued the intake splitter in and started working my way down the fuse halves with liquid glue got 'er all sealed up Pretty solid joints, no gaps and minimal sanding to level the joint required. The black lines are the squeeze through of black paint and plastic LSP_Paul, TorbenD, sandokan and 4 others

Fitting the wings..Crossing my fingers you enjoy sand, fill, file, prime, repeat..We are all here if you need to vent to somebody. It's Trumpeters fault..just sayin Paul Shawn M

Dany Boy
Shawn, this 1:32 Mig-15 modeling is looking great, and I have the impression that you reduce a little the front intake splitter or I am mistaken? Shawn M
Thanks gang! Danny, no thinning of the splitter itself just the horizontal bars. They had terrible mould misalignment and were too chunky. Started some sanding of the joints, not as pretty as I'd first thought..oh well its only plastic.
