mozart
That's a really great looking model Shawn, I hope mine looks as good. The only thing I would query is the lack of yellow tips on the propeller blades, perhaps the early Spits didn't have them? Max Shawn M

Shawn M
thought about that as well Max, couldn't find a clear yes/no. If anyone can provide a clear answer I will pray them on in a jiffy!
Shawn M
this would indicate it started in 1938? http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/69991-yellow-prop-tip-question/ oh what the hell, a little extra color wont hurt. I'll spray on some yellow when I get home tonight. 4" in 1/32 scale is 1/8" Edited February 17, 2016 by Shawn M geedubelyer

mozart
This is a useful reference Shawn though it doesn't give any clues about the yellow tips. I reckon you could easily get away without adding them. http://www.boxartden.com/gallery/index.php/Profiles/Camoflage-Markings/01-Supermarine-Spitfire/Supermarine-Spitfire-Camo-and-Marks_Page_01-960 Max Shawn M

geedubelyer
She's a beaut' Shawn, cracking job mate. I have little doubt that Edgar would approve. I think you were right to add the red canvas gun covers. It adds a neat splash of interest. Nice tribute to the man. Well done. Cheers. BiggTim
If you see this kit at your LHS or for cheap on ebay....buy it! You can have an enjoyable "roots" build OOB or throw a lil spice at it and make it special. I traditionally never build the same kit twice, I would build another of these in a heart beat it was that enjoyable. Agreed! I built one of these a couple years ago for a buddy (also wheels up) and I had a good time with it as well! Shawn M
Shawn M
I added the yellow, much like Geedub pointed out about the canvas patches, the yellow sparks it up a notch Couldn't resist posing all the shelf brothers together...all old boxing 1/32 Revell Jobbies MikeC, geedubelyer, dmthamade and 1 other
Totalize
NIcely executed. A real fine piece of work. Just a question about the missing red/white/blue panels on the tail. Did this aircraft not have them?
