Old Revell Spitfire MK I/II- done 2-17-16

I have always likes this antique kit. I should as I have about 9 of them, mostly in bags as the boxes have decayed or fell apart.

I would not trust these old decals as they crack nicely.

The one trait common to most of my Revell Spitfire kits is that the little hubcaps for the wheels are missing in almost all of them. Which is probably why a wheels-up build is recommended.

But these old 1/32 Revell kits were the cat's meow back in the early 1960's. They still are fun to build.

I have a real soft spot for all the old revell 1/32 kits, I really enjoy the simplicity of them and the blank canvas to detail.

Mine had the hubcaps, they're glued on other wise I'd send them off to you!

The decals (see page 1) are shot to hell, I have AM ones.

Good to see the progress Shawn. She's looking mighty fine buddy.

I used the colors called out by Vallejo in their RAF Daylight Fighter set, I think the brown needs to be lighter. Granted the colors in the photo aren't quite "accurate" as the flash washes them out a bit.

Thoughts?

or does the green need to be more green?

the more I look at it, I think the green needs to be more green....

argh...whats the forum say?

I tend to agree with you. On my monitor the dark earth does n't look bad but the green does look too light.

Cheers.
