LSP_Kevin
That's some really fantastic progress on that paint job Iain! Looks great; can't wait to see it finished. Kev
Iain
Right - I've had enough for today! Not perfect - but not bad (don't be too harsh!) and under a varnish/RLM76 filter and weathering it'll look more even and less stark. Have fun! Roy vd M.
What a sexy plane it is! And really nice work. Looks quite right!
imatt88
Iain, It looks like its sitting in shallow water with the sun shimmering on it! Thats insane and way cool! Killer paint job!
Iain
Ian - that's exactly what I was thinking it looked like - glad it's not just me going mad! Actually - I think it's something to do with that effect that's been making my eyes go squiffy - and the headache I've now got... Still - progress made... And I've just gone and looked at more photos - think I'm worrying a little too much about getting an even effect - the real a/c were all over the place!! LSP_Kevin
Wow - your wrist must be aching after all that! Kev
petrov27
totally epic effect there - looks brilliant! Curious on the paint being used and the thinning ratio and pressure?
Iain
Paint is Gunze Sangyo Mr Hobby acrylic - sprays beautifully! Thinned about 50:50 with Tamiya thinner. Pressure - don't know - regulator set to 15 psi - but my Iwata HP-CH has a pressure adjuster at the nozzle - which is set to minimum. Iain

LSP_Ron
Lov it, this has to be the hardest paint job known to man for WW2 subjects. I ponder it often knowing my kit will some day be...........started....LOL
Out2gtcha
LOVE IT! Wow, that really does look fantastic. Well done. I hope my future attempted NASM scheme turns out 1/2 as good! (Still pondering the best way to apply that scheme as well)

Iain
Thanks all - comments appreciated - still not as neat as I wanted - but getting the airbrushing consistent over such a large area/timeframe was a bear... Going to have a coffee and fresh look - part of me wants to redo outer wing panels - but not sure I can face it Iain
Padraic Conway
That's a lovely job there Iain. Really really nice. Why not leave the outer panels as is? The whole scheme seems really well blended to my eye and the effect is very special. Padraic
