Guest Peterpools
Peter Aces on the scribing. If only I was able to do mine half as good, I wouod be one happy camper! Keep 'em coming
TaffyMan
Nice to see this lady moving on again. The redo of the tail is spot on mate – join what join. Also the re-scribe is brilliant , I’m with the others that I would be ecstatic to get something that looked half as good. Right pull up the seat and reach for more popcorn More please - Taff
LSP_Kevin
That scribing is really terrific Peter! Clean and precise. I'm having no end of trouble with my Hughes racer in this regard (I've given up actually), so right now I'm highly envious! Kev

airscale
thank you chaps - how very kind you all are I struggled too with scribing but as in an earlier post, the answer is definately scribe primer, not plastic - so much easier and zero fuss or clean up# I really like Radu's tools, and today it was out with the rivet wheel. Good reference is a must to know the detail of how the airframe was riveted together - I don't trust plans so rebuild pics are normally most helpful. For the Sea Fury this is Meier Motors or Sanders Auronautics who have excellent galleries of their fine work.. Here is the fuselage centre section, nicely showing the rivet pattern... ..and so a start is made - usual method, using Dymo tape as a guide and micrometer for measurement.. ...and then started laying out the rear fuselage - not much more to say, hardly a 'riveting' build is it... ...still loads more to do so this might get a bit dull for a while.. Haggis
That is astonishingly good Peter, the lines and rivets are so crisp. Perfect. Thanks for the latest bundle by the way, much appreciated mate. I've got a few projects coming up which will feature Airscale stuff a fair bit. Cheers.

airscale
thank you chaps ..not much going on here - more scribing and riveting.... yawn.... ..vital tools are dymo tape and Radu's scriber & rivet wheels... ...started on the tail... this was a tricky bit to scribe the curved rudder leading edge, so I used insulating tape as it is more flexible... ...and partly rivetted... ...the rear fuselage... ...forward fuselage.... ..and cockpit area... ..getting there slowly.... I need to leave areas where there will be filling and sanding like the wing roots and under the cowling until later but still lots more of this dull stuff to go... that's all for now Peter Uilleann, Out2gtcha and Landrotten Highlander

airscale
thank you gentlemen thought I would drop in a few more pictures before I go away on business to Hong Kong and the Philippines for 10 days (Mrs airscale will be looking after the shop..). Going to check out the Phillipines Air Force Museum in Manila so will take a few pics too ..no more real progress, but I did try a dry fit to see it looking like an aeroplane - no excuse these are just gratuitous shots to stimulate me into believing one day this will be finished... ..and so on to the tour... ...getting there.. ..see you folks sonn..
