I found myself looking for a solution to make the exhaust pipe  and one time it hit me. I went to a local hard ware stire and got me these conectors electricians use to conect tubes. These puppies are dead cheap and have the right size OOB (Out Of Bag ;) )

heres what I'm talking about

you can also see styreen strips that I already cut into the right size. I need two lenghts as I need some space to install the compressor assembly.

next on the list drill a lot of tiny holes in them like this

then all thats left to do is to bend them as I saw in some pictures that the shape of those things isn't flat

then I started attaching them to the tube

when that is done on both sides this is what is looks like

Frederick,

Excellent (and surprisingly simple) technique!!! I've never heard of something similar before, but your results are very very realistic.

Saved for future reference... if you don't mind.

STUPENDOUS detailing and brilliant solution for those cans. Lots of hard work there, I imagine, but so much more satisfying than commercially-made PE parts. Looking forward to seeing more.

Looks awesome...how are you goung to paint them?

Wonderful stuff

Brad

Well as I still havent glued it all yet together I can easely dismantel the whol ething and paint it piece by piece. Just the exhasut pipe is a one piece affair but its not a biggi to paint

Thanx everyone for their comments much appreciated :)

looking good frederick. I have been watching tis one since you started it and plan on trying to "replicate" some of your stuff.

Do you plan on doing the engine fronts the same, or are you going to put FOD covers on em?

Lovely detail work Frederick. Just one small thing, might be well out of line here since I am not a jet man but do you think you need to thin down the walls of the edge of the can a bit. It looks so good but I think it is a bit too thick. The fact that you can take all the suff apart for painting is the way to go. It is very difficult to get a good pait job done with all the detail in place. This is a fantastic build man!
