  1. Nice build. I would nitpick on a couple of details if you don't mind: 1. the interior of the wing folding mechanics should be blue-gray 2. give me the BuNo and I can tell if the main wheel wells were also salmon or light gray, like you painted. 3. I think the skull was scratched on the negative of one of the photos, but never painted on the real aircraft I'm positive about the blue-gray, but not so much about the others. Not at home at the moment to check these things. It's a nice model, regardless. Rato
  2. Flawless work. Congratulations. How was the fitting of the AMS parts?
  3. Nope. It is a resin item from Legend.
  4. Yes, Ray, please.
  5. Many thanks everyone for your kind comments. Ray, go for it. Rato
  6. Thank you Kevin. I have a huge stash of good 1/32 stuff. In the end, the Salamander drove me to invest more in the scale. I intend to keep doing dioramas em 1/72, though. Let's see.
  7. It is done! I declared my Revell Salamander in 1/32 scale finished. It was one of the most arduous modeling projects I put myself into. Of course, I had to make many concessions along the way, but it is virtually impossible to foresee all the problems from the outset in a project like this one. Some parts were made three, four, or five times – only to discover that the last was not all that better than the first one. However, I enjoyed the journey immensely, as it was one of those opportunities when you can incorporate much of your research into the model, and, in the process, I shattered David Parker’s Panzer IV record by almost a year. I will leave with just a few photos, but I do, however, want to write an article showing the methods and techniques used to scratchbuilt all the details of the Salamander. This model is planned to be part of a diorama, over a flatbed being pulled by a maneuvering engine. The diorama will still take a while because my apartment is under a major overhaul. I have had a lot of support and encouragement from many friends during this project. Thanks, everyone! Rato Marczak https://ratomodeling.wordpress.com/ https://www.facebook.com/ratomodeling
  8. Excellent start, Daniel. Looking forward to see this one finished!
  9. Posted Sunday at 07:04 PM "Still waiting the end of the week...." Wow... already? Haven't noted. Time really flies... Fab, that model went to my shelf of doom, and returned recently. However, I decided not to post wip's anymore in my modeling page, just finished models. Just a teaser Will find some time and post more here. Maybe 'next week'... Rato Marczak www.ratomodeling.com
  10. Folks, I'm doing a survey, and would like to hear your opinion. Very simple: What is the most valuable paint item on your bench? Brand and color, and say the reason: because it is oop and you have just one bottle left, because you use it a lot, because the color is on spot, or because it is difficult to find, you name it. It does not matter if it is a basic color, a metallic paint, a clear coat, whatever, just don't mention only your favorite brand, but a specific item and why it is valuable for your modeling jobs. I will compile the answers from various groups and post here later. BTW, mine is Floquil Old Silver. Because I love the unique shine and Floquil no longer produces Railroad colors. And I'm almost out of it. Thank you all! Rato Marczak www.ratomodeling.com
  11. Ahh... and how do you know that I was there?... Patience, boys. End of semester at University. No time at all. But I managed to add a few things. Hope to have at least a few photos next week. Take care Rato Marczak www.ratomodeling.com
  12. Thank you Peter. Will find you there. You probably won't remember, but last year you already gave me several tips while I was making countless questions on your Spit... You are an inspiration for us. Take care Rato Marczak www.ratomodeling.com
